One of the cheesiest things about when I first played wow was the high levels selling low levels trips through the lower tier dungeons for gear.

I understand some people wanting to bring their high level powerhouses through to "play" content at lower level with their friends' but how fun is it for Bob when a level 60 runs through and 1 shots every encounter into oblivion. There is no challenge, no mystery, no sense of danger just loot pi

Yes it was cheesy... but the key here is that the player had a choice in doing that. Granted... they were idiots for paying for it... but hey, at least they had that choice.

Personally, I'd like to characters get scaled down rather than up.

But yeah, there's a need for change here.

no just only the time between each dungeon 4 levels then never again on that char. What a waste for content. maybe then some of these other people will see what im saying.

WRONG WRONG WRONG, They do have max level versions of each dungeon, they are called heroic and you automaticly can do them when you hit max level, it's been confirmed by devs in many videos.

Well thats good to know(haven"t see it anywhere tho). But i still want to be able to play with my friends and not solo or pug all the way to 60.

In STO quests are always scaled for the highest lvl party member. So if a lvl1 and a lvl 50 team up the enemies will be lvl 50. Also there is an option to scale your lvl to the party leader, meaning the lvl 50 could be scaled to lvl 1 and the enemies are lvl 1 or the the lvl 1 could be scaled to 50 and the enemies are lvl 50.
The loot lvl is determined by the lvl of the enemy. So if your party is scaled to lvl 1 they drop lvl 1 items, if you scale to lvl 50 they drop lvl 50 items. I rather like the system because it allows people to play together regardless of their lvl. Of course a lvl 50 does have more skills/weapons slots etc so you are still more powerful even if you are scaled to a low lvl. Still I rather like the system.

Since they use it in STO it should be possible to implement it in NWO. I would welcome that.

I'm fine with the current system and I support a wider level range for dungeons.

The main issue I see with a level limitation is it lowers the pool of players to run the dungeon with. This isn't really an Issue at launch but with the limitation of Character slots I see a limitation with Alts. This means months from now you may see longer que times for the dungeon because less people are at that point in the game. (this is the time when you want someone that can run you through)

The only other thing I can think of right now is the Token system. All bosses can drop the various weapon and armor tokens. I can see their logic in limiting that kind of exploitation. If that is even their reasoning.

*My personal opinion on the friend argument.

If you want to play with your friends so badly then you need to make sure you have a character near their level...to go back and play with your friends is silly if you are slaughtering everything. Its always been annoying having someone come hang out with a higher level toon and kill everything while I'm trying to enjoy the game. Don't be that guy. Again, that's just my personal opinion and nothing about relevant mechanics.

The 5 man dungeons that are lv 15-19 20-24 and so on need to be changed. I understand a lv min but it should be lv 15 and up so that everyone can play. This makes content useless imo. Please change this as it will make the game more social. If it has been changed thx if not post here to get the dev's notice.

well, typical post of someone who dont care about skills and challeges in mmorpg games... free epics , boosts, trivial dungeons which you can clear in 5 minutes thanks to higher level friend (who is still ****)
and so on.... this is typical cult of HAMSTER and noobs started few years ago by blizzard by giving free epics and nerfing content...

I hope that this rules wont change... and I hope content will be very hard so this will be no place for bad players and people who dont wanna learn to play.... (empty hopes because 90% mmo community are bad players and for them games are created and tunned :/ )

My typical post is not about it being easy its about being social. If you bothered to read all my post you'll see that. Thats the mind set of a typical troll. I hated wow and its players stop playing it because its to easy so wrong again and my first mmo was Ultima online to witch is the hardest mmo with FFXI in witch i played each for years so wrong again. If i wanted to play a solo game with out friends i wouldn't ask for a change but i level fast. Was max level in most mmo's fasted then most Age of conan i was 3 in the world to hit max lv so i just want to play with friends.

Now for this part Content is easy atm and seeing you only joined in Apr 2013 you have not played yet to see this. D&D is about playing with friends not restricting them. I Do not care its its lv down or up as where some the points made here(As you haven't read this ether). So Please refrain From making comments on a post in the future in till you take the time to read the posts. As it will help you understand the conversation and make an appropriate response.

P.s i just read your only other post bashing the game and saying this game was 10-15 years behind other mmo's(laughing) and saying it will become free to play after 3-4 months(laughing harder). So like i said plz read posts and information about the game before you throw your 1 cent in.

A sidekicking system for this would be awesome. I hate missing content (particularly dungeon content), but if I don't have a group during the time that I'm in, say, the 15-20 range, then I basically can't play for fear of leveling.

The GW2 scaling system works amazingly well. I run my 80's in full Exotics/Ascended through the lower dungeons all the time, and it's just as much of a challenge as when I ran them early on.

EDIT

Ah nifty, that's alright then. So long as I don't completely miss out on dungeons, I'm good. :)
I still would like the idea of being able to scale down to play with my lowbie friends though, since most of my friends are RPers that take their time with content. I'm an RPer myself, but I always end up blasting through games with my initial toons and end up helping everyone catch up. xD;

First of all please do not mention Guild Wars 2, since I sincerely hate that game and even my casual brother dislikes Guild Wars 2. GW2 is an example of a game with horrible bad PvE with annoying swarm events where to much players make it chaos etc. and no power development whatsoever a casual carebear game.

Guild Wars 2 the Mist PvP with 2000 players has some potential. That said it was a slideshow on my laptop that runs well Neverwinter(played in third Beta weekend).

Level should make a difference. No sidekicking HAMSTER to this game. It is enough annoying PvP has same level. Thank god PvP does NOT have same items as should be! Thank god this game will have Raids though they will be much later after release maybe even a year after release.

Some adjustment could be nice though. Example a level 30 + level 19 the system could calculate that together they do not make to powerful pair if those 2 player do a 5 player Dungeon. I still think that we should avoid also WOW system where a max level character can babysit a character.

seriously we can't go back and solo/help out lowbies in lower level dungeons on max level toons?
It doesn't need any auto adjusting or side kicking or anything. If I want to steamroll mobs and bosses who gave me strife as I was leveling or I enjoy spending 8 hours a day soloing content just because I can why shouldnt I be able to? Isn't it my choice how I choose to play the game?
Oh wait, soloing or helping lowbies through content will destabilize the virtual f2p economy right? -_-

wtf is this, Age of Conan all over again?

Personally i think its a good idea so you don't stomp it and get the loots, BUT i would like to see them put in a "Fun Mode" so you can still run through it at any level past the cap RocknRolla style, tearing the place to the nine hells either by yourself or with your chums.

Fun Mode - No loots, just for the thrills

"Fun mode" would be a great compromise to this situation, Fun mode would allow you to run through the dungeon solo or with friends if all over you are above the dungeons level cap. In this mode you would not gain any experience or loot, just that enjoyment of tearing apart the things that once instilled fear into you. and perhaps in time they will add additional features to fun mode, by that i mean just over the top laugh out loud things, that could add to the awesomeness of obliterating everything that lay in your path.

Although I am on the fence, I do agree that this will create limitations. Sure some players will get power leveled, but onthe other side, some people may now be able to play a dungeon if they outlevel said dungeon because of questing/PvP. I see this as a bigger priortity than all the nerf requests in other sections of the forums. I say either remove level cap or make the gap a bigger one.

Considering you can queue for every dungeon, all you need to do is open up the screen to see if any are available every time you level.

You can queue if you are within the appropriate level requirements, PUG or premade group.
You can enter a dungeon via the front door, level doesn't matter, premade or solo.

There's no reason to really run through low level dungeons again. Buy another character slot and level a new toon if it is that important to you. Most people aren't going to want to run the low level dungeons over and over again and if they do they'll make alts. Find like minded and run with them as well. Solutions already excist to solve the problem and if not then you're being just a bit too needy with the game.
Also if you don't have or know how to make friends in an MMO then you shouldnt play an MMO.

Oh noes high lvls are going to rolfstomp low lvl dungeons and gear out lowbies for epic loots that will be replaced within a few hours/days! This is going to totally break the game because they're getting gear the easy way while I had to do it the hard way because I have no friends!

These are most likely the same type of people who don't want the best gear dropping from raids.

I have no idea what people in this thread are talking about I tried going over Cloak Tower in BWE4 with my level 30 Goddess. I easily kicked everything's teeth in and weren't even in a party.

Now I got blue weapons for cleric and gwf and lots of stuff for tricksters, ALL of them were Bind on Equip, even the one from the dungeon quest. So I looked around the area and gave them out to people leveling.

Then I took a friend of mine in there did the same unfortunately she didn't get any exp but we both got seals and more items from the chests.

Did any of you actually try to walk in the door of the dungeon?

I waltzed up to the Door and found it unlocked.

I then proceeded to solo that level 15 dungeon with my 50 GWF like a boss. . .

. . .Well my companion helped a lil too i guess

best would be like this:

1: all lvls allowed to join the dungeons
2: if a person 10 lvls or higher in the party the drops become a zero chance, but it allows you to compleat the quests.
3: If player 10 lvls above it wont allow you to get experience, but allows you to compleat quest.

this would scale down the dungeon runners just for drops, and let peps to choose to team up with peps their lvls to get exp and drops.

Hey all,

Just to confirm, it's totally possible to group up and click on the door to enter a dungeon, as long as you're all at least the required level. :)

My BW4 experience with Lair of the Mad Dragon:

I was offered and accepted the quest to do the dungeon, and posted in guild chat to see if anyone else needed the dungeon. While the group formed I kept questing.

We got together, went to zone in via queue, and were told that we could not zone in because at level 37 (IIRC) I was one level too high.

Not a level 60 trying to zone in to solo it. No power leveling. Just trying to continue the quest chain.

One level too high.

One.

Even worse, when I checked, the quest was not in my journal. I'm not sure if there was an error when I accepted it, or if it got deleted later, but I was unable to complete the story.

Don't talk to me about power leveling or game balance. The queue needs to drop the freaking upper level limit.

The way it should be. Each dungeon should also say the max lvl you can queue.

Would also like to point out that if you lvl in the dungeon, passing the cap you do not get credit for the quest, and do not get the end chest. Happened to me.

Implement mentoring. If mentored down, the mentor and the mentored character cannot loot anything. It's content the mentor out leveled. There shouldn't be anything worth looting for the mentor and the mentored character is getting an escorted run through content they are being shown vs content that is being exploited for their benefit. Award the experience. Solves higher level characters farming low level dungeons for drops, while promoting the idea of if you are in a low level dungeon, it's to help someone else and not yourself. Pushes new characters to utilize the LFG que. If it's the loot you're after, and you're afraid of out leveling it....level up to max level and run the dungeons to your hearts content on an epic level. Content should be available to everyone, loot/drops should be restricted to the level it's made for.
