I did see a 6th class symbol,when I created my weapons fighter
That's the generic coming soon class icon. Though it's no indication of whether whatever it represents will be out by launch, or even what exactly it is.
Wow, things sure have gotten 'specific' since I played D&D back in the 80s.
Fighter
Magic-user
Fighter//Magic User
Cleric
Thief
I had to bribe my DM to let me play an Assassin Cleric because of alignment and and being too specific.
(Of course the Pally and I went at it as soon as the whisky kicked in)
It's still essentially the same way in 4E. Your class is Fighter, not "Guardian Fighter". The "builds" listed in this thread are just examples of characters you can opt to use at level 1 listed in the PHB to help out new players. Neverwinter turned those builds into classes.
The difference in modern D&D is really the amount of character building options you get compared to OD&D, Basic, or AD&D 1E.

I compiled this list from the 4e character builder on the Wizards of the Coast site
Comments
avenger paladin
Scourge warlock
War wizard
archer ranger
valorous bard
wrathful runepriest
Guardian druid
Telekentic psion
I would still like to see a runecaster form the FR 3rd edit.
They need to just release game, more waiting just going to end in disappointment.
Let people have fun and let complainers go find another game to sap.
