We think this trailer looks amazing! What do you think? Does this get you pumped for Beta Weekend in just two days?
It certainly does. Why wasn't the D&D movie like this???
Does the fighter get penalties because of the lack of depth perception?
Man, jokes aside, I find amazing those changes from the initial characters back in 2010 (when the rogue was drow and all) to what they are now. It's nice to see concepts evolve and then seeing them in such glorious way.

It was like I was watching a movie, seriously. I want to see the whole 3 hours, extended and director cuts!
Loved it a lot how it showed character emotion and desperation. I grinned when he referred to the cleric as, "Cleric!"
Hope there will be more!
Seriously though, if you guys and gals could make the Siege trailers in a full blown CGI movie just like as done here, but a couple hours long.. you'd have the next D&D Blockbuster on your hands! So, what are you waiting for? GO MAKE IT! please?

Always love a good CGI movie for games...it's just a pity we're light years away from having that kind of graphics as the actual graphics in-game. I mean...there's been a handful which push the boundries (Crysis, Witcher 2 and apparently Crysis 3 will take it to a whole new level), but none really look too close to CGI yet.
It is my hope that before I die...I do see that quality of graphics enter the gaming worlds themselves and not just remain in their videos. It's not the end-to-all for games, but I'd love to see it one day. It was a nice movie here to watch, hopefully they merge it together into one video at some point.

Just out of curiosity, what was the previous D&D blockbusters?

I don't think we are "light years" away, by far.
Go back and play games from the 90's, the graphics we have today look as good if not BETTER then the "CGI" cutscenes of then.
I mean look at a video like this, which is the Unreal Engine 3 and could be done in a game today if someone wanted to build one for that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Leohvejqyo

Yeah a full length gameplay movie with 100% action. Who needs dialogs ? Simple beauty of bloodlust and honor.

Well not light years, literally...but I don't think anything quite compares to it yet. And I've seen that video before...the point is, no matter how good the videos they make are going to be, the technology won't keep up. The reason why games don't use true CGI graphics (as seen in movies like the Neverwinter one), is likely because it wouldn't run as smoothly as we'd like, because the rendering or delivery method may be different.
My new system is capable of running Crysis 3 at it's projected maximum/high performance settings without breaking a sweat...it's a beast of a system, but I still don't think it'll quite look like any kind of CGI movie, be it game-based or film-based. There's certain differences in the eye that just don't appear for me in the live gameplay, even with graphics like the video above, or Crysis 3.
We might be closer than we think, but I personally don't think we're quite there yet.

The new video just excites me even more! I wanted to be part of the action soo much! I was there in my mind fighting off the hordes of undead with the other adventurers of the video. It really touched me and I feel really good about the new release of Neverwinter Online/Nights.
I hope the cutscenes of the game are just as wonderful as the teaser videoes we're getting.

Was thinking the sae thing.
Infact logged in just to say this and saw someone already did...
This is a very nice prerendered trailer but the art style is so different in game judging from screens and videos. This has a better artstyle to it, much more realism than the cartoon-ish in game.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] I want to HAMSTER in Neverwinter, whenever I want, for as long as I want.

I felt like I was IN the action instead of narrating it to me.
Apologies to the community for any things in the movie that are NOT in game though.
I am glad you guys liked the 3 part series, I had a blast overseeing the creative on them - btw there will be a full cut coming out so you can see the full story line in one video.

I was wondering about that. I'm honestly surprised somebody hasn't snatched them off YouTube and done the same already. Do they fit together nicely as presented separately or is there some transitional/filler footage that needs to be edited in to make the full cut work?

They do fit together nicely, I went full dork mode the other day and watched them back to back
Of course I wouldn't object to any additional footage that made it in for the final presentation.

Same here!
Actually was great, I really enjoyed it. I'm sure Gil will be excited that Selune was invoked.
