Merry meet! I've been lurking in the shadows (oddly enough my characters are known for that as well, twisted little buggers that they are) since October 2010. I'm glad to finally see some release of information here recently. Before anyone says "what release of information", the little tidbits here and there are far more than we've been getting over the last two years. Just to be clear, I'm not criticizing. Just happy to see things are moving forward.
A little background: I'm an over-night/morning player based out of the US. I never got into the PnP stuff, never any groups around where I'm at. Always thought it sounded interesting, but never got the chance. I've played a number of mmos Lotro, rift, gw just to name a few. Well, to name the most known ones. I'm an avid reader. I first found Forgotten Realms when I checked out a copy of The Crystal Shard at the local library back in '95, at least I think it was that year. (gasp! imagine that...another person who's first book for that world was a Drizzt book) I'm highly sarcastic and a bit of a smart***. After looking at many of the posts, I think I'll fit in just fine
I love to run dungeons and do questing, although for me pvp doesn't exist. I play along with rp a little, but I'm by no means one of the hardcore rp'ers.
Looking forward to seeing everyone ingame eventually.

Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again! Well met indeed and welcome to Neverwinter!
My first D&D book that I read from start to finish was The Knight of the Black Rose. I skipped school to read this, played sick so I could stay in bed for two days and read the whole book. I had read bits of the Dragonlance Twilight Saga before but never finished it until after the Knight of the Black Rose. It wasn't until I began DMing Forgotten Realms that I started reading FR Books. I think my first FR novel was the Time of the Troubles trilogy and after that I went all over the place reading every FR novel I could get my hands on. Most are ones by Ed Greenwood.
I've actually never finished all of the Drizzt novels, mainly because of my love of Elminster and everything to do with Mystryl/Mystra. This keeps me sticking mostly to Ed's works. However, R.A. Salvatore is brilliant indeed, I loved the novels of his I have read and am looking forward to my audible versions of his new Neverwinter Saga. I'm especially looking forward to all the Third Sundering Novels that lead up to and into the D&D Next Timeline though!
This city promises death for the meek, glory for the bold, danger for all, and riches for Jade! Elven Trickster Rogue: Two-bladed elf, tons of stabby stabby and that sort of thing...

I suggest if you havent, that you read the New User FAQ.
Also the Directory of Founders Guilds of Neverwinter helps for guild shopping.
I invite you to look at and if you like it join my guild, a link to which I keep in my signature. We are light RPprobably going to have more PvE and Foundry missions the PvP(although we may do some, it is not required that you do it) and we will be making Foundry missions.
I hope you have a great time here. I hope to see you around the Forums and In-Game.
