What is a Cryptic Account? Why is it telling me to merge with my PWI acct to get a Beta Key yet giving me no clue what a Cryptic Account is (yeah, I get the pun cryptic)?

Cryptic was a seperate company before it merged with PWE. So old people had cryptic account which were assimilated to PWE. If you already have PWE account, you do not need to worry about cryptic account.

    Welcome to the forums!

Gillrmn gave a great explanation of what a Cryptic Account is.

However as to how to get a Beta Key the answer to that question and more can be found in Truthseeker's FAQ.

First of all the game is still in Alpha so even if you have a Beta Key you still can't play.
Basically the only way to get a Beta Key ATM is by Going to one of the Gaming Conventions (PAX for example) or buying the RaiderZ Elite Founders Pack.
And I truly stress not to buy the RaiderZ promotional pack unless you plan on playing RaiderZ as well as any Beta Key Granted does not guarantee that you can join the CBT on day one, merely that you will have access to the CBT.

However there will be plenty of opportunities as the game gets closer to launch to join in the Closed Beta Test or at the very least the Open Beta Test will start around the new year.

So don't worry you're not missing anything yet. I hope this helps.

And while it is no guarantee, a good support of forums/social media sites and/or contributions sometimes gets you keys sent out for upcoming beta stages.

But rest assured, there will be many many many keys offered in many ways once the Beta starts going. But we can't say what stage of that Beta you'll be in even if you get a key and enter it.

But once your stage starts and you get that email telling you this, it's very likely you should be available to play any and all stage after that. So if you get a key for Closed Beta, and that section has ten stages before Open Beta, and you get activated for Stage Six, you'd be exceptionally likely get to participate in Stages seven-ten, all Open Beta Stages, Stress Testing, Etc.

I can't say though on how Cryptic/PWI has recently handled their betas, so other people who have been through this I encourage you to confirm this or clear it up if I happen to be wrong.

What I have confirmed though, you can read in my FAQ as link-posted earlier by ambisinisterr. That first post/section has the area with the Beta questions. But even if I knew, I couldn't say any upcoming promotions unless publicly announced, and this board (as well as Neverwinter's locations on Social Media) is the place to find out!

Well met and welcome to Neverwinter!

I'm also sure there will be more opportunities to get into the beta phases once closed beta gets underway.
