I really wish more TSR Forgotten Realms novels would become audible. Reading fine print causes me migraines these days and I feel like I am missing out so much at not being able to read the latest Neverwinter series novels. Please, devs, pass this on to R.A. Salvatore. I would love to experience his wonderful imagination and storytelling of his latest novels of Gauntlgrym, Neverwinter, and Charon's Claw.
I am not sure any of the new books actually deal with what you are looking for. So far there have been basically 3 books/series set in or around neverwinter in the 4th Edition.
RAS has the Neverwinter Series that deals with some of the plots and such going on around Neverwinter, but it does not really go into any kind of detail regarding any of the old organizations.
Brimstone Angels by Erin M. Evans takes place in Neverwinter (after a short journey to get there) and shows us some more players trying to take over the city. We are shown how the Asmodai are everywhere it seems and the Abolethic Sovereignty are also in play. Demons abound, spell plague is almost common in some areas, etc. But again, it does not touch on the items you have asked about.
Cold Steel and Secrets by Rosemary Jones is also set in Neverwinter and deals with the new secret police of Neverwinter. It speaks of threats from Luskan and Thay but mostly is about the political group "The Sons of Nasher" and the search for the lost crown of Nasher.
Those are all I know of at this time (and i have tried to read all the new books as they have come out).
see bottom page as to see what it has to do with novels
That is the kickstarter game they are doing "Project Eternity". I am pretty excited about it so far, a new M rated game written by Chris Avellone that is supposed to be an homage to PS:T, KOTOR2, etc. and I believe it will be Infinity Engine like.
Sounds good!

Kickstarter for a new fantasy IP, should be curious to see how it turns out. Neither NWN4 nor WoT as people were speculating. Should be curious to see how it turns out, but totally off-topic. :P
Biggest downside it has right off the bat is that they went with RTwP for combat.
Just about finished with Charon's Claw. Can't wait for the fourth book in The Neverwinter series coming out in March. Will make my previously annual trip to REDONDO Beach, CA , now semi annual for the RAS book signing fest...
This city promises death for the meek, glory for the bold, danger for all, and riches for Jade! Elven Trickster Rogue: Two-bladed elf, tons of stabby stabby and that sort of thing...

I finished it on Saturday, and really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of RAS and I look forward to reading more of his novels. It is definately a lot better than reading the professional journals and books that seemingly pile up on a daily basis for me!
