I am very excited about this upcoming game. I also like the fact that it has been delayed. As long as the game is good the devs can take as long as they want. I would like to get into the beta though b:thanks
I'm hoping to create some good dungeons and find some good people to run through them with, I might need to buy a new computer to play this game but that's how it goes b:victory
/laugh is my all time favorite command.
I've been playing games my whole life, so much so that I see all of creation as a game.
Who generates the ruleset??
Does the ruleset even matter?
Perhaps this is not the place for philosophy, or perhaps it is?

Welcome to Neverwinter giggliato!
Yes, ALWAYS ask questions and get to the core of what makes something work. By understanding that we understand ourselves better, in this case, what is fun to us!

Well met and welcome to Neverwinter!
I am old school PnP in where it is my belief that the "DM's word is Law" despite any contradicting rules or ruleset. I am so glad to hear that "D&D Next" will be going back to this, putting the power back in the DM's hands. 3rd and 4th have just too many rules and stipulations for everything, which is why my group still plays 2nd edition ruleset. We were discussing going to Pathfinder ruleset - now with "D&D Next" coming in a couple years, we have more to discuss. Mayhaps even some beta testing.

Amen brother. 3rd and 4th have some good ideas, ruined by the WoTC "my way or the highway" approach which almost tanked D&D in the forced marketing of 4th to its players.
Now that we're guaranteed a minimum of two years to test out everything with D&D Next, it's good to see the players/GM (and not the company) have the empowerment again. When Greenwood and Salvatore and a bunch of other writers are giddy with excitement over Next, that says something I haven't seen in...well, quite a while.
