WoW is not that great imo, too many expansions, money kinda is too easy to get, and its so frigging overrated and some people think thats its more important than life and buddys!

Silverspar, i don't know where you are coming from or what experience you have with MMORPG but ... The best game to have ever existed were UO, dark age of camelot and EQ and let's not forget WOW ( wow was the most popular but not the greatest in my point of view ). And those game were all...hmm.... ;) YA ! PVP games. Except for EQ who was really freaking heavy on lore !!! Great old day's.

Sorry, but you are wrong. They had PvP elements. UO's popularity went up after Trammel was introduced, while EQ had a larger player base. Dark Age of Camelot was not a PvP game, PvP was an afterthought for a long time, it just happened to be good. It was a huge PvE game like any other PvE game. WoW is a pure theme park PvE game. The PvP is and always was horrendous in WoW.

Oh and obviously you missed I was a PK Hunter in UO since 97. I can tell you never actually played those games to begin with. All you are doing is making up facts that aren't even true.

Hardly, but yes, I can tell you never played those games. You can try and talk all you want, but you really are a poser. You were the type of person that talks big and I killed regularly on the field.

Nice try, trying to claim you are part of something to.

Yes, because I found you out and see through your attempt at claiming to be something you aren't. You can claim whatever you like, but it's quite obvious you're one of the WoW carebears who only read about the "good old days" without actually being there and then claiming anyone who does have knowledge about the games as a carebear, despite I love PvP and the fact I participate in it regularly. Just the fact I know when a game isn't going to have it and isn't even focused on it, nor am I deluded enough to make believe PvP is something a huge number of MMOers are actually after.

I played UO about 3 months after it came out and the PKrs soured me on UO and PvP.

I never went back to UO and it took years for me to try PvP again.

I will play PvP (SWTOR & WoT) now but do not want PvP in a PvE game added as an after thought.

Umm if the pvp player base is so small why is it that every mmo has included pvp as a big feature to get players to play their game. Most mmos these days have pvp in it in some form. Please give a list of mmos that is stictly pve centered with no pvp elements in them. EQ2 made this mistake when they came out with no pvp servers thinking thier playerbase didnt want pvp in the game, alot players left EQ2 to WOW for that reason.

Just trying to add some meaningful input here.
Some sort of open-world PvP could work, taking on the ideas from several other MMOs. I'll just list a few that comes to mind:
    • PvP zones - Post Spellplague Neverwinter is an apocalyptic region. Maybe have the cities and a couple of the more traveled areas such as caravan paths, trading hubs, outlying fields, etc. be PvP-free zones. Then have the more dangerous areas, like deep inside a forest be a lawless zone and thus have open PvP. In one MMO I've played, the open PvP maps are coincidentally, the best spots to level. This attracts huge attentions to PKers, PK hunters, and non PvPers willing to take the risk.
    • Monitored PK system - Have something in place that would encourage players to be active PK hunters. I posted in another thread about a bounty system where players could post bounties on PK offenders.
    • Level restriction - Make it so you can only PK someone at least x levels below you.

Ok Aglomyr, stop spamming my thread. I ask you a simple question: What systems for open world PVP would you like to see in place ? You have nothing to say? Go somewhere else, thank you sir for your maturity.

Thank you for your input. It all make sens and would give good opportunity for non pk players to chase down who they hate.

i would add to your ideas some Guild wars and guild keeps that you can capture that give you some bonuses, like crafting etc.

They have PvP in them but they are not the focus. Having a PvP option in an MMO does not make it a PvP game. Adding PvP to games is at best just paying lipservice to those people at best. And while PvPers still try to believe they make up the largest portion of MMO gamers, the statistics prove otherwise.

Your reason why people left EQ2 is also hyperbole. But this also falls into the belief that people believe that EQs fanbase was large enough to rival WoW's which is false.

What is the facet most games pay attention to, even WoW and SWTOR? The PvE. The PvP only gets what amounts to lip service from patch to patch, enough to quell the biggest whiners and that's about it. And sometimes something big happens, and PvP might get a big boost for one patch out of an entire years worth of updates in WoW or SWTOR. Hell WoW only gets any major pvP updates now with expansions just to provide that lip service, everything else is balances to problems they created or minor tweaks to make it look like they are doing something.

Ok if thats true, then why is the next upcoming big mmo Guildwars 2 going to have pvp as its big focus, with a world vs world pvp map with keeps in them. Companies wouldnt be doing this if there was no market for pvp, Neverwinter was not going to have pvp in it, wonder why that changed.

Heck no, i suppose that you haven't really checked other threads that much, i dislike PvP, only things what i prefer as PvP in DnD game is Arena and some duels (duels would be good in RP thats why they would be nice as well)
