Tabletop players will lose Critical Strike !

Although the game does not follow 1 on 1 the rules, it always followed the trends.
As I observed over the years, devs tried to replicate the changes in norms, rules and general game experience according with tabletop changes.
-In the next edition it will be a great change in combat, player will lose Critical Strike as we know it, it will only be the weapon damage bonus added, and nothing for spells.
We might have a Combat Rework within a year.
The information is for people that like to prepare, do with it as you wish.

The combat system is so far away from the tabletop system that I would not worry too much :)

    2024 is the 50 years D&D anniversary.
Neverwinter will be showcased everywhere, since One D&D is virtual orientated, and I already recognized many Neverwinter artists work in WoTC promotional.
Basically all graphic assets of Neverwinter are now an integral part of the official edition.
Combat can not stay isolated in its big characteristics.
But everything is subject to change until then, that is true.

Current Tabletop crit rate: 1/20 or 1/10 with certain weapons/feats
Current Neverwinter Crit rate: Cap of 90% (or 9/10 to maintain same format)

WotC doesn't care about the mechanics of Neverwinter, only the lore, appearances, names, etc.
