As of today the launcher will not let me log on saying that it can't authenticate my Steam ticket even though it worked fine fine last night before the maintenance. Am I the only one having this issue? Edit: Never mind. Something was wrong with my Steam account that was making the launcher do this. Update: I got it to work but after logging off it is now saying that it can't authenticate my Steam ticket again. I presume that this is a bug created with the update.
Hmm... It is happening again. I was able to get it to work but after logging off it is now saying that it can't authenticate my Steam ticket. I presume this is because of the update. @nitocris83 I think the dev team should look into this.
I have the same issue, I last logged in today at about 1:30 pm PST, did some checks and logged off, I had seen early this morning the 5 GB patch installed fine, and my steam client updated too, but now, after restarting my laptop, I cannot login to Neverwinter. The popup says: "Unable to authenticate: couldn't fetch steam ticket (2)" if this helps any.

Same thing happened to me. Both Neverwinter and Steam updated and now I get the same "Unable to authenticate: couldn't fetch steam ticket (2)" message as well. When I was on a number of players were complaining that there were so few players today in the queues and looking for groups which I reckon is because they can't log on because their accounts are linked to Steam. I did send a ticket and from the looks of it there were many others who did also seeing as it was telling me that they were getting heavy traffic with people summiting tickets probably because they can't log in through their Steam accounts.
I believe this may not be a Cryptic issue. Steam has been having problems with their servers today. Ever since their maintenance a lot of people have been unable to log online with Steam or connect to the Steam servers. This would explain why the Neverwinter launcher has been unable to authenticate the Steam accounts. We are not the only ones having problems with Steam today. DOTA players are also having problems being able to log into DOTA. This is apparently a problem that is mostly affecting the North American servers.
Steams North American Servers are pretty much down and have been for most of the day: https://steamstat.us/ I don't see this issue happening with players from other parts of the world (Feel free to correct me if I am wrong). This looks like it is a Steam issue that is mostly happening with the North American servers. A lot of North American Steam users are saying that they can't log in and play any MMO or online game like CS:GO, GTA, Red Dead Online, DOTA, Team Fortress, Neverwinter, ect that is linked to their Steam accounts. Update: Was able to log back in once my area servers got back online. Seems like this was a Steam issue.
Hey folks - yes, this was a Steam-side issue. Apologies for the frustration!

Launch from the resident .exe in your Neverwinter file and bypass Arc or Steam altogether.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
