I already sent a support ticket. I'm just spreading the awareness as being told by support.-
" I completely understand that situations like this can be frustrating and I would feel the same in your position. I know that it can be a hassle if you need to double-check your highlighted choices on each tab every time you change your appearance". So it's being taken care of. Thank you support team!
@nitocris83 Neverwinter Online's character appearance editor has been glitchy. The game randomly reset its appearance tabs automatically on these (my) characters without my knowledge, while changing the appearance! Making minor changes in the character appearance editor, there is a chance that options will automatically change to something undesired by being randomly highlighted without the knowledge of the player on each appearance tab. Whatever is highlighted by option or color option, that undesired appearance will not show on the character until final changes-'apply changes'. Double checking each appearance tab is a must to avoid the randomness of something being undesired randomly. There is a reason why I'm upset with this outcome happening to me. I did not expect this to happen randomly on me without my knowledge on my characters twice in row! When checking the colors on each appearance tab, I clicked not the color square, but out of the color square choice menu interface. For example, I checked my eye color and it showed a different color square being highlighted. Check my hairstyle color and the color square highlights the upper black for example. Click again and it shows what you really choose. The color palette bounces to an undesired color being highlighted not picked by the player previously. Checking your colors on each appearance tab, it should show your original color, otherwise that highlighted color might be the color undesired. I'm assuming this is what happened to me or some appearance tabs reset? Honestly I really don't know? I just know I didn't set a new color on the palette and the game automatically changed colors and/or appearance options on my characters after clicking 'apply changes'. Noticing the jumping color palette is at least something to be alarmed about. Characters that ended up having an undesired appearance happening to me two times in row is a reason to be extremely upset and cry about. I also noticed the appearance change editor doesn't act like I changed anything with minor changes while editing to apply changes and I have to click some appearance tab to get around it; so that's another problem. Perhaps that's how the game glitched? I don't remember what I did, but all I know I didn't choose a different color! I don't know why the button 'apply changes' doesn't highlight after making minor changes? Perhaps it works as defense mechanism to prevent players from accidental clicking? Honestly there needs to be something that exists after clicking 'apply changes' to be final after editing a character's appearance. Something like typing
[yes or no] to confirm.
I recorded with loilo game recorder. As you will notice once the color palette pops up, a new color undesired is highlighted. Again that undesired color might apply to the character without the player's knowledge. If you can't see the highlighted color, it's best to see it YouTube using full screen at max resolution 1280x720 @ 60FPS. If I have to display more examples, I will.

https://youtu.be/2x4mSFmyLKAI will make the statement that Neverwinter Online's Character Appearance Editor is unpredictable! I got some nasty behavior recording some more footage.

https://youtu.be/BmmT2RAWn64Also to mention on the head appearance tab. 'Face 01-Young' has a bumpy skin texture; it looks like a boiled face or acne face. Obviously Neverwinter Online's character appearance editor has been corrupted for some time.
[Phoenix.Kiss (All I did was widen my character's mouth width)]1. The game changed the secondary eyebrow color to black.
2. The game gave my character slight makeup with the color white. (Edit: I caught it doing this! A small chance %! Though wished I recorded)
[Phoenix.Blossom (All I did was widen my character's mouth width and change the pupil eye distance)]1. The game changed my secondary eyebrow color to grey.
2. The game changed to a different brown on my hairstyle one square up from it and not my auburn brown that I had with blonde highlights.
I believe I fixed my Phoenix.Blossom character? Though I need to double check! I'm so upset to even focus at the moment or even try to deal with it on the character appearance editor. However, I had to transfer 200K (200,000) astral diamonds from other characters just to fix her and buy another appearance token from the Wondrous Bazaar, which is why I'm upset. Again happening on two characters, there is something glitchy going on; enough to make me furious upset. Whatever is going on character appearance editor? It's corrupted and having some problems! I'm sorry this is happening in this game. I hope I'm really precise on what happened to me and apparently I realized the behavior on what's going on with Neverwinter's character appearance editor interface. I hope the Neverwinter Online character appearance editor will be addressed and it will not cause any other issues in the future once fixed by the development team.
I think it's safe on checking each appearance tab twice or whatever times to make sure the desired choice is correct first, then click the color or option, and apply it again. This might prevent the issues for now?

On top of this, dragonborn characters don't even have the option to change their skin color anymore. They'll have to go with a preset...

The body type doesn't stay on highlight. It's rare that the body type will change to some undesired result randomly. Testing, I got strange behavior by selecting a new body type for example heavy when I really had toned as my applied changes, exited out of appearance editor, and then going back to appearance editor to body type. The body type doesn't stay on the really applied highlighted body type! So technically once went back to appearance editor, the highlight stayed on heavy, rather than my toned body type. Weird! It was just a random test to see how bad appearance editor is on being glitchy.
in my case aasimar race (I have an open ongoing ticket)
opening the manual ,it's contents disappeared (not sure if this how it's meant to work) and the hair was not available in the editor.. also I didn't get an appearce change token with the purchace.
Suitable warning that these hairstyles are not available to some races should be in the zen store dialog..
I would prefer to see it fixed than hunt down any refund for it..
