Game Whisper Chat behavior - replying to the wrong person

The behavior of the whisper/tell chat when replying has changed with the recent combat changes.
Now, when we type /r, we reply to the last person that wrote us back.
In the past, it used to be that when we typed /r, we replied to the last person in a private conversation (including somebody we wrote to).
Here's a silly example, having private conversations with players X and Y:
[From X] Hey, I'd like to join your guild.
[To Y] Hey, want to join RTQ?
(type /r) [To X] We're 9/10. (<-- wrote to the wrong person!)
[From X] What?
As you can see, with the new private chat behavior, people used to the old style, will easily send PMs to the wrong person.
Please bring back the old behavior. /r used to bring up the person last involved in a PM (including somebody we wrote to but not yet replied).
