Or Elemental Evil -- but as an extension I suggest. After all, DeVir did say would be back...
I figure the whole Elemental Eye is just a dropped plotline at this point.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
As Ian stated his harsh truth on page 2, you play their game, or find something else you like to do.
Yup, that pretty much sums it up for me. I have 181 or so days left of VIP. All I'm doing is pulling the daily key and logging out now.
Once it runs out I'm taking an extended sabbatical from this game. Retro Sharandar with a 40k IL barrier to entry or whatever has 0 appeal for me, so this is an easy decision.
to be fair i would imagine if you dont have a min of 40k il and your stats pretty much sorted you are gonna have a real hard time getting through the intro quest let alone any further
I had no problem on Preview. But 3 of us plan to tackle it on Live, I just have reservations on that false 40K they grant us. If you do this between February 9th to 23rd then you get to keep the fake 40K item level for this campaign. Otherwise you are out of luck and living in the dog house.
Well, just to be clear, it will be enough to push a character through the intro quest to have that 40k IL boost for the whole campaign and after February 23rd? And this boost is not an account-wide unlock?
I currently have 3 of my 6 at level 80 here now. I don't know why early birds get special attention and others who are away from the game in February don't. I was asked by my friends, if I wanted to run all my 80's through. Then all 3 of my 80's get the 40K and the others suffer. Not that I mind, missing out on the whole torrid affair. This is just like when I logged in the month of August and got the free Gith skin. None of my characters are Gith and not one of them will ever use that ugly skin. But often afterwards I see in chat, how do I get the Gith unlocked... you know the answer. It makes me feel like, I have something I will never use, someone else wants, and I would gladly give it to them, if only I could. Now if I do this run, I get to tell people months from now, sorry no soup for you! This time it is a conscious act to preform and we don't get the benefit for just being online. I am having mixed emotions about the so-called reward. It will feel to me like a self inflicted curse. Should I decide not to run, I won't see Sharandar for at least another 3 years.

I don't know how long you have been playing here Demenoss, but as many of us can tell you; very few of these campaigns stories do any justice to the D&D lore. Many just don't end at all and I quit playing for years after I finished Valindra's Tower. Why? Who do you see attack Neverwinter in the opening cut? After I killed her, I dragged that massive phylactery of hers back to the Doomguides and THE END.
I only returned here when they changed the cut scene to Ravenloft. Then I came back as my second character, since the first one retired. Elemental Evil is module 6 and if they plan on rebooting them in order; 1. Sharandar 2. Shadowmantel (If so, the Dread Ring should arrive in August of this year) 3. Icewind Dale, in 2022 4. Tyranny of Dragons, late 2022 5. Rise of Tiamat, in 2023 6. Elemental Evil, late 2023
Well, considering that they're going to remove the old campaign, i guess there're still going to be more then enough negative reviews... may be not right now, but certainly when some of the former players return to the game again, and see all those changes.

Uhg, the thought of having to do elemental evil again, I loathe that campaign.... so much

We can only hope this is not the plan. I am not a fan of it either, as I said, I stopped playing for years after module 6 came out. I am in favor of repairs and rebooting, however increasing these campaigns level, and calling them new and improved doesn't show much imagination.

I doubt they would be redoing stuff in chronological order.

So they soften the blow by letting all current players go in without IL requirement. That way they avoid a lot of negative reviews.
