Part of comparisons is because less people means less reason for WOTC or whomever the parent company ( ies ) for Cryptic Studios to have more staff members. Less staff member size, less buff fixes and more 'we don't have the manpower' or whatever the excuse was that was given. Less bugfixes, less content, less playerbase. Spiraling circle downward.

I hope this helps you. Cryptic Studios is a subsidiary of Perfect World Entertainment, purchased for $50 million dollars in 2011, from Atari. Wizards of the Coast is owned by Hasbro, they own the rights to Dungeons & Dragons. WotC advise Cryptic on what products they can place and how to promote the product within the game. According to Bloomberg and Forbes, Cryptic Studios has somewhere between 100 to 400 employees at various times. Manpower is the decision of budget and availability by the CEO of Cryptic Studios.

Shhh. Facts interfere with the paranoia.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
