(Professions) More space in materials bag

erevel09erevel09 Member Posts: 177 Arc User
Hello all.

I already made that suggestion in other topic (patch notes (preview) I believe), but I guess it won't hurt to do it here again. So, as the title says, we need more space in material bag for professions.
Since all the new added materials (including +1 versions) take space, I think it could be a good idea to expand the size of our profession material bag. As of now it's barely enough to contain most of the stuff. As someone who did masterwork professions I can really relate with that issue.

So, here is the suggestion: either simply expand the size of said bag OR cut 1/3 of the tools and supplement space and add that amount to the material bag.

Of course, any other idea might be considered, but I think one of these two would be most beneficial, simply because they are simple.

Cheers,
Erevel.

    I'll second this.

But I also have to say that a shared professions bank would be a welcome QoL improvement.

Expand the material bag is good.
Cut down tool space is NOT. I actually ran out of tool space many times before (because I was making tons of tools).

A tab for Profession items on the shared bank would be very highly appreciated.

The game really enourages you to have different toons making components that your others need, and having to create emails for every little transfer really, really sucks.

Just allow mats and tools to go in normal slots in the shared bank. No need to make a new tab.

The professions slots have been an issue for a long time and between the various junk items for weapon restoration and +1 items, it is really annoying.

In another thread about the same topic: https://arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter#/discussion/comment/13124273 The suggestion was to add an account-wide vault to store (and share) materials.

Always has seemed silly to me to send mats to another toon via in-game email.

I notice that, but the idea of shared material vault is a bit more complicated - seems to me. And by that I mean, they won't do that in the near future. At least that's what I think. Not saying it wouldn't be of use though.

@plasticbat, well, I guess I didn't thought about the fact, that some players like to craft tools and supplement items to sell them or just make them for other toons to use. In my head and looking at my personal tool bag I only lack some lvl80 tool now (have all masterwork tools, lvl70 legendary ones and gond's hammer). And with them it's gonna be it for me, maybe in the future I will add a bit more supplement items. And that still leaves me with about half or more of the size of said bag.

With that said, the idea of expanding material bag size by simply increasing amount of space still stands. :)

Regarding the tool space, I needed (and still will need) that mainly for Workshop upgrade (more for upgrading to workshop 3). I found that making tool is the easiest for multiple reasons:
    1. Not too many steps.
    2. Not expensive.
    3. Pretty fast.
    4. -75% commission artisan (for Jewelcrafting) was easy to get.
    5. low level tasks, good to level up young profession and artisian.
    6. Does not take normal inventory space and "the tool space is big". :)

However, there are only 2 days in 16 days rotation would take the tool I make. The tool bag was filled up few times. In that case, I needed to relocate them to other toons (who also have a big tool bag).

For sharing material, @nitocris83 talked about "shelf space" in the workshop before. I did not hear more about that after that.

I suggested something similar - moving 80 slots from tool box to materials bag earlier.

Easy for people who don't have a ton of tools and supplements to say just shift those slots over. And then when they add more tools/supps to game we'll be right back to "add more tool space".

They just need to expand the materials bag. No reason to do anything other that.

I mean if the issue is space, the devs can factor in "x amount of new spaces per toon - spaces on inactive accounts that will never see use because of all the players the game has chased off". That should get them to a good number of new spaces.

Maybe they even make the spaces only available upon login so inactive accounts won't get them.

But this all sounds like work soooooo....not happening.

Boy, am I glad I got Adamantine tools before they were outlawed and didn't need all the lesser tools.

I used to be able to buy them from the Materials trader and Retainer, now not so much.

Yes but that is the same requirement as before (if you buy the tool from the retainer).
