how do I get launcher shortcut?

I changed computers. In downloading the new game, I made the mistake of thinking I was signing in so used the same username and managed to download a version that takes me to the new game with no characters etc.
On realising my error I deleted the launcher shortcut but find when I try to workaround on my computer i end up launching the brand new version of my game rather than the original game i have been playing for 3 years or so.

Are you using the Arc Launcher or native launcher? Are you logging in with your email address?
