Maintenance began at 7am PT based on internal email notifications. We get a notice that maintenance will be starting soon about 10 minutes prior and then one right after maintenance has begun. It may have been another unrelated issue?

@nitocris83 It is very common that you're able to play up to the end, but can't switch characters or you'll get a server unavailable message when you try to log in from several minutes before. This is very irritating when you're trying to invoke your last couple of characters.

Honest curiosity: Couldn't you invoke the last few after the maintenance is over or is it a time available thing that limits your ability to invoke after?

I ask because I try to do my first two rounds before I leave to work/drop kids off. Some mornings it is hard of course but I am aware of the pending cut off on the mornings they do the maintenance. Many days that morning invocation is my only game time the whole day. So I was curious if you are in the same situation.

Sometimes people have to go to work during or right after maintenance. Which sucks for those people. I think (not 100% sure) that they bring down the login server slightly before the game servers, which is why people have trouble logging in or alting just before maintenance.

I'm in the UK, 3pm is maint time for me, if I'm out for the evening I've quite often gone by the time the server is back up. I also suffer from medical problems (chronic fatigue) that mean that I'm usually not on the computer till beyond the 10am reset. I can do one invoke last thing at night when I get back, but if the chronic fatigue was bad and I only got 4 done on some chars before maint, I lose coins.

Time can be a harsh mistress. I know once I get the kis up and moving, dressed myself, and then out the door so they can be on time for school, I can have very little time for a round or two of invokes. I can totally understand how the time difference can play into the issue for you. Thanks for responding.
