People would love to "Pay" for those races and it will drive up revenue. I'm sick of my two mains looking like shriveled up dinosaurs.

High Elves in the Forgotten Realms are called Moon and Sun Elves. Going back to 1st ed terminology, Moon Elves would be Gray Elves and Sun would be High Elves.

Gray elves are Greyhawk (Oerth). Moon Elves in the Realms are also known as Silver and Star Elves. The only Gray Elves in the Realms would be those who immigrated from Oerth and would not be of the same bloodline/ethnicity as Moon/Silver elves, as Oerth elves evolved differently than the Realms'. The Eladrin are High Elves. With the opening of the Feywild to the Prime Material Plane, the Eladrin came back into the Realms and claimed their rightful place as the High Elves of the Realms. The Eladrin "High Elf" race is not to be confused with the "High Elves of Evermeet" though. That is group of elite and often royal magic users, not a race but more of a prestige class to put it in relatable terms.
I am sure that lore wise, this entirely true though game wise 1st used gray and high as the names of the playable races. But that's just quibbling. Mostly I just wanted to explain why High Elf isn't a missing option from this game.
Gnome on the other hand is back in 5th...

1st edition wasn't the Realms though. Back then, the prime campaign was Mystara and arguably Greyhawk. The Realms just became the prime campaign for D&D in 5th edition.

Thought the Realms were prime in 3rd/3.5. Compared to Greyhawk/Mystara, the Realms is/was power gaming.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
