Psion's Shroud -- changing appearance

One of my chars picked up a Psion's Shroud, and I've decided to equip it as it does offer better stuff than what he's wearing.

The problem is, wearing it as-is he frankly looks rather stupid.

So, as I have with my last two bits of chest armor, I pulled up Leather Armor +4 to change the appearance. But the system won't let me; it tells me that they're not the same type of equipment.

I haven't actually equipped it yet, so it isn't Bound (and I'd be Salvaging it at any rate), but I'd really like to make this change before I apply Dyes to match the character's personal color scheme and equip it to take into the field.

This will happen with any of the equipment that allows multiple classes. If using a class-specific transmute, you have to bind the new gear first so the base piece becomes character-specific too. It'll work out fine once you commit.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it after the server's back up.

(It's not so much an actual bug, then, than a mildly confusing frustrating function issue, for which there's no rush to fix.)
