Far-Eastern Mode!?

Why not a Far-Eastern Chinese/Japanese mode which Golden Dragons, Nagas,"Monkey King" people, ninjas and Samurai(s)---to the west of Neverwinter (assuming that Faerun is round). With this Mode, that is a good time to breakout the Monk Class!?

    There was the Al Qadim expansion(seemed to cover a range from Persian to Far Eastern cultures) back with 2nd Edition, that was I believe part of the Forgotten Realms setting, but as our current expansions seem to be a direct tie in to what Wizards are releasing, getting the release of the Al Qadim stuff would likely be up to if Wizards decide to revisit that part of the back catalog and update it or not. As to the monk or any class, I think I read that the release of any new class has been pushed back or aside so that they can balance the current classes to make the PVP players happy. I think had they kept up with the rumors and previous rate of release for classes we should have had the Druid, Monks, and Bards by now, not to mention a new race to play at least.

    If WotC decides to develop adventures within Kara-Tur, then I suppose it will happen... and we will have a trifecta of settings I tend to find culturally cringey. Hurrah.

    Al-Qadim, Kara-Tur, the Hordes; lots of untapped possibilities.

    During the winter, WotC put out a ton of class options as playtest material, including several Eastern-themed options like Samurai, Kensei, Wu Jen, etc. Later, Mike Mearls said that those were not random inclusions, and heavily implied that an Eastern themed "something" is in the works. With their SSSLLLOOOWWW release schedule, who knows when we'll get it, but it sounded like it was on the way, probably sometime between 2018 and 2786.
