Am I wrong, or is there another way to get food in your guild coffer that I'm not grasping? Just seems kinda pointless. Can't I hire a farmer or something? But if I have to do it myself, I want a mini-game, please.

Farm? Try farm, mine, quarry, lumberyard. All 4 need tending.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
They need doing every 8 hours if I remember correctly - that means someone has to do the rounds 3 times every day.

You are forgetting the recruiter and gem cutter they need tended too, as does the Jubilee trader during the Jubilee. In addition there may be a guild that built the assayer (though I am not sure why) its very limited gold production is not worth the mat costs to construct, but if they did build it then they need to tend it as well.
Can't forget what I've never had built.

It's a mechanic they put in to prevent creating inactive alt guilds from being able to fill their resource coffers without at least spending 5min every few hours for tending. Without tending, they may as well just remove the structures and raise the cost of everything else.
Realistically, it take less than 5min to tend everything (green mount). So run a circuit when you log in (while waiting for that first 15min invoke cycle to finish), then again when you log off (after you sell, donate, and organize for tomorrow). Pick 1-2 other people (with staggered play schedules) to do the same and it'll be relatively painless.
I tend for my guild, and I admit it felt tedious when I started, but it's kind of like another little mini-game in itself sometimes to fill the gaps.

Check the stronghold tab in the guild window. I go to tend when they are over 50% filled and try to fit that into the route of daily SH HE run. I also may park a toon close to the tend site. If my toon can wake up in SH, he/she can tend right the way.

Okay, I read what everyone said, and I understand what all of you are saying. All I'm saying is that I think it's poor design. Games are supposed to be fun, not boring and tedious. If there's a feature in the game that is boring and tedious, this is a problem.
I'm not a guild leader, and I have alts. The time I have to do all the things I want do is limited. But I want to help the rank 12 guild I just joined. So, I must force myself to make time to click this button on a screen for five minutes a day. Yes, it will eventually benefit the guild I joined, and help me in the long run when we increase our guild rank and the strength of our boons. However, it is rather daunting when I know I must click this button several thousand times eventually, especially if I'm the only one doing it. It is not fun in any way, shape, or form.

I guess that all depends on how the tend structures are located. For our guild, one is close to spider HE, 2 are on the route to drake HE. One is not in the clear route to any HE but at least it is close to back entrance of the castle. Our guild is pretty good because a lot of time there were people tend them before me. I never see it overflow besides when coffer is filled with that resource.

What would make it easier would be the ability to tend all of the structures from a single point in the SH, for example; ordering an npc in the SH to do the rounds.

I feel your pain. For a long time I was the only one tending for the guild. I think I'm still the only one that actually logs on before bed to make sure they're not full. I get the "no fun" thing too, but it's a task that's in the game and it's unlikely to be removed. If it helps, think of it as the same as emptying/organizing your bags before you log off... just when you log on instead. Hopefully, you can find someone (or two) who are responsible enough to tend daily, and can stand the tedium. Until then, to maybe help ease the pain a little, here's my morning path:
Log on in the morning and pray. Check your crafting, check your campaigns, check the stronghold resource structures. If they need tending, go to the Stronghold, mount up and start the circuit.
1. Grab the daily quests before you head out. 2. Head East, straight out the gate and follow the road to the first one (ours is the quarry). Our stable is just past this one, so I grab the quest from the stablemaster first, then tend the quarry. Optionally (before tending), if the Drakes are up, climb the hill to the North and knock out a quick HE. 3. Mount up again, and head back towards the gate, veer off the road a bit and follow the right wall to the second structure. Tend and mount up again. 4. Run back into the Guild House using the North Gate, then out the West Gate (tend the Jubilee trader and temporary traders on the way if you have any), turn right (North-ish) and jump off the rocky ledge to hit the third. Tend and remount. 5. Run South. Hugging the Guild Hall wall (West wall on your left) then jumping off the ledge at the end can save you time (versus following the road). Tend the fourth structure. 6. Check the Structure tab to make sure you hit everything, then check the map to see if the spiders are up for your first HE. 7. If the spiders aren't up, climb up the little hill with the big tree to the east (to bypass the roaming spiders), then jump off the waterfall and the South gate is right past the archway. Demonic HEs can spawn in this area too (they count towards the 3 HEs for the quest), so you can tackle one of them if you want to.
Since the coffer is right there, donate anything you crafted overnight or picked up during your run.
This is where I decide to either run the Stablemaster's race or turn in the SKT dailies. Either one should finish off that first 15min invoke cycle (if you didn't do any HEs). Now you're done tending for another 7-8 hours, you may have a couple quests done, and you can play for the next 30min (or get ready for work) without thinking about finding a campfire to pray at.
I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but I think adding a mini-game to tending (as you originally mentioned) would make the run more tedious and time-consuming, and less likely to be done by passers-by.
Thank you for the input. One thing I just found out, by experimenting, is that if you wait for the food (or whatever) to store up a bit before you click tend again, it's much faster and easier.
However, what you could do with a mini-game is reward people who become more skilled at it. You could get more of what your trying to fill your coffer with by scoring higher or doing better in the mini-game. You could also spoil, ruin, or damage things if you totally fail. Challenge, risk, and reward are part of what make things fun.
EDIT: I was just standing there clicking Tend as soon as 1 resource became available the first time I did it. This is obviously not how you're supposed to farm or do whatever else requires tending.

The stronghold only remembers you if the map was active recently (someone else on it, for example). Otherwise when you log back in you return to the place you were before you went to the stronghold map.

Building SH is an effort that should be contributed by everyone. That does not mean you have to waste effort with low/no effect. You don't have to go to SH to check the tend site one by one. Click the guild icon above. Click the stronghold tab and you can see the current volume of the tend sites. You can do that in anywhere in the game. You don't need to go to SH to check that. If you know the max storage of each tend site (if you don't, find it out and remember that), you can determine if you should go to SH to tend it. For example, if the storage is 10000 and the current volume is 200, it is waste of time to go out of the way to tend it.

I waste a lot of Seconds everyday tending as I run HEs in SH...but why not. I will tend it even if it is less than 10% because hell...I Am Right There. I also "waste" a lot of AD on GH decor....so don't listen to me...lol.

Tending every 8 hours isn't too bad, but the Assayer Temporary Millabout location needs to be tended every 5 hours, meaning tending five or more times when he is there (for a max of 14 Gold 40 Silver).

That area can have other vendors which are visited by guild members. Those member should tend it when they are there. Unlike other tend sites, this site should have more frequent visitors. The resource vendor is useful to the member and SH.
Guild mark -> resource vendor -> mat -> profession -> crate -> coffer -> much more guild mark than input guild mark

My husband and I do most of the tending ourselves. I do it before work and before bed, and he does it when he gets home from work. Someone else often grabs the temp structures whenever they go past them, but our schedule is about as close to perfect as can be without requiring anyone else to be online at fixed intervals. Since everything fills at the same rate, it's not like it's some giant burden to remember to get the farm a couple hours later than the lumberyard or anything dumb like that. If we're going out somewhere, we do a round right before, regardless of how full they are.
If one of us is late for the normal schedule we miss a few minutes worth of stuff. Big whoop.
