It appears as of the current patch, Lostmauth can now animation cancel his fire breath and keep re-aiming it. Furthermore, the rate of movement of the fire balls appears to have been increased and the size of the scorpion fire breath AoE appears to have been slightly reduced in width. I will try to get videos of all of the above later to update this thread, comparing videos of the above fights in elol before and after this patch, to demonstrate the above.

How so animation cancel? I've noticed for some time, mobs with Line AOE (dragons, stormcallers, etc...) following their target and the red splat rotating with them.

I thought this was just something special that the Stronghold Stormcaller boss mobs did to make them bossworthy, but oh. (Our werewolf upgrade is kinda recent.)

I know I've seen it there but IIRC the ones in GWD have done it as well. The Siege Dragons are doing it, and even if the level 60 mobs are a joke, the dragon's breath isn't.

Thank you! We may have a fix to this one internally. We'll see how it shakes out in testing, and try to get the fix live soon if it works out.

    @terramak

Hi, this is not a dragon only matter, it happens with other charge attacks too.

If you go to Dread Spire, the last boss has the same behaviour too.

This new behaviour is more realistic and you still have around 1 second (the last one) to leave the area, but it's also true that some classes would have more problems "dodging" the attack.

PS: SW and GWF have no problem with this feature if you are smart enough to have some stamina remaining.

@terramak There have now been several requests to KEEP this behaviour (see the number of likes on @wintermurloc 's above post), and I for one am a big advocate for this new feature. Please keep this around, it seems to work fantastically with the lore of dragons as well as making them scary. The animation for it doesn't really look that bad either.

I like it. This "feature" is the only thing making the fights in the siege HEs interesting.

The one time animation canceling is actually a glitch and not just an "exploit" to the lazy eye.

I also agree with the others that these behaviour glitches give these bosses a more realistic feel compared to the standard and predictable attack patterns.
As veywiil mentioned about others wanting to keep this change. This can be implemented as a less common attack in the attack patterns to provide some extra mechanic, but not too frequent that wipes low level pugs.
Perhaps bring back the other glitch where the dragon herald in WoD that runs away after taking a beating will be an encounter completion :)

Indeed. This makes the dragons more fun, and more challenging. I really don't consider a "fix" needed or wanted. We have far too much "easy" content. This unintended (?) behaviour is an improvement from my perspective.
    Hoping for improvements...

    > Though this is a bug and all dragons now display this behavior , i actually like this unintended change. It makes things interesting and lively. I noticed it at first at a dragonflight when the blue dragon zapped someone with his lightning breath and while i was a bit late and casually running towards it , he suddenly turned it all the way towards me killing almost everyone in the line of sight.. it was hilarious and more realistic. This might be a bug you guys might want to consider retaining but that's just my thought.

    Agreed. It seems more realistic.
    Dragons are not stupid.
Of course they would turn their head of you dodge their breath attack.
@terramak : 1 vote for leaving this in.

    Brilliant. +1.
    Dragons can frigging fly!
Why the hell would they sit there and be slowly poked to death? lol

I've now had rogues get wiped out by a couple of pivoting breath attacks in Siege, but I'm finding that kind of refreshing.

I've also found that actual solid tanking (which most players in Siege are fairly well clueless about) makes it a complete non-issue. If someone is capable of keeping the dragon facing in one direction, there is no tracking breath weapon. I *can* see it being problematic for "tanking" a dragon on any class by continually jinking right and left to avoid the breath weapon and still maintain your dragon facing within a narrow angle.

I don't have a strong opinion about it with dragons, at least. They don't use their breath weapon at a fast rate.

Where I first noticed it, with the Stormcaller werewolves in the SH, they can really spam their linear attack and I've found it hectic to try to whittle one down (at 10-player HE strength) while not getting nailed in the process, but that's also from me playing solo and would probably be a non-issue with even one person with me.

There is nothing refreshing about siege. 2 HEs for daily, or farm vouchers. If they were actually challenging I wouldn't bother with either. Just mindless grind.

If it were actually group content, then sure, let the tank engage. But HEs aren't group content, just zerg. If you aren't lucky enough to find a random tank, then what? Content in this game has to be designed so that all classes can do it. So much of what we already have fails that, please don't talk about adding more.

Part of what makes playing TR fun is having to learn mob's tells and work with them. This tracking AI makes that impossible.
