2017 WannaCry Ransomware.

Hello neverwinter players, staff and developers..
As everyone know that in last days new ransomware worm spread around globe. So this thread and post is more like encouragement to install proper PC security software and updates.. And also keep yourself safe from this worm/malware.
Now some guys/girls would think that if they have one of top 5 famous internet security suites/packs, they are safe. Wrong.
Internet security suites/packs only reduce chance to get infected, by blocking suspicious websites, mails and files. However, it not fully protect against this ransomware..
In 2014 I have been infected with ransom ware, and even then no Internet security softwares where able block threat. All because ransomware is not simple virus.
This is worm type infection, and it do not require download any file. Enough to visit website, click on x stuff and u got infected..
Internet security softwares block websites, block suspicious files and downloads, also firewall protect against threats.
But most crucial part is windows OS flaws which are exploited by this ransomware.. So in order protect against current ransomware threat, is require to have latest windows updates, to fix Windows 7/8/8.1/10 flaw.
Also need to remind. If one PC got infected in your local network, it's only matter of minutes when your PC got infected too. Because once PC infected, This ransowmware look for all PC connected to that network, scan them and try exploit windows os security flaws..
Now if would happens you got infected, don't bother with support services. Some fake ones would claim they can fix it, but they don't. Most likely install other type malware/back door virus or other HAMSTER.
Also ransomware encrypt your files, so more less without key you can't decrypt files.. Even if u pay ransom by bitcoin, there is ~0.000001% chance that you get key to unlock PC. Most likely they get money and leave you. So don't bother..
So top advices:
1) updates windows<
2) keep antivirus/internet security updated
3) use common sense, don't visit HAMSTER websites, don't download unknown files. Don't open unknown mail.
4) backup crucial files to external hard driver, cd/dvd, or other PC which is not plug in any network(even home network).
5) use all 4 above mentioned stuff, by keeping yourself safe you also protect other pc within network, don't spread this HAMSTER.
