What triggered this bug on my SW was the /gfxsetdefaultfov command. If you change the default value AoE is gone.
Options / Gameplay / reset to defaults will fix it.

So the command gfxsetdefaultfov caused the problem ?

HAMSTER, forgot I made the post but yes it is resolved. Putting the settings back to default fixed it, thank you!

This did NOT work for me. Literally just tried it by Alt/Tabbing. No joy.

Alas, PWE doesn't always know any known work-arounds for bugs. This is indeed a game bug that Cryptic is trying to pin down and resolve though.

Try typing /bind_save_file filenamehere and then go in and reset to default settings in options, then type /bind_load_file filenamehere and then try reset to default settings in options again.
