DR and Defense are two different things. Defense is a stat. There is no way that the new weapon will count DR towards Power, another stat.
Yes, guess only statbuffs will count, but you can push it significant espec. being a GWF by slotting azures and there are statbuffs from AA and from insignia , no clue how to stack more, there are ways by sure , guess this is only from interest for PVE.
