During the Festival of Simril when a player gets the Omens of the Stars quest from Mayor Vario Cepheid the details say a player will receive 6 Light of Simril for completing the quest. After looking through the telescope and talking to the Astrologer the details say a player will receive 6 Light os Simril for completing the quest, however the Inventory Notify says a player only receives 4 Light of Simril and a player's inventory only shows an increase of 4 Light of Simril.

Seems to be that by way of compensation Cryptic should give everyone who purchased a Simril helper companion this year, or purchase the companion next year should the offer reoccur, 8 Light of Simril tokens (yes a 50% increase instead of the currently promised 40%) for their purchase instead of the present, but "broken" 6 they were supposed to receive.

I think it would go a long way to keep people who made the purchase this year from feeling they got ripped off and it would promote some good will towards the people who have made purchases and may consider making these types of purchases in the future.

Touting a person will get a product that is supposed to do something, then when the purchase is made finding out what it was supposed to do it doesn't do... word of something like that getting around can be seriously detrimental to future sales.

Already people have bought mounts that were when originally sold as "Bound on Equip" - but then they were changed to Bind on Pickup (black horse) and bags that sold as unbound that were changed to bound to character (greater bags of holding).

Twice that I'm aware of - the Simril Companion would make it three - where people purchased something but what they got was either altered so it wasn's what they spent their money on or 'glitched' to be not what was promoted.

No business in the real world could operate like that and survive.
