You need to keep it active. If you bought the 6 month package, it will end after those 6 months are up. You need to buy another package to keep it active. You don't loose your rank when it goes inactive, you just loose access to the perks that rank provides. Each time you buy a month, it increases a rank respectively. For example, I'm at rank 12, which has since elapsed, but I still need to keep it active by buying it monthly or in packages. I started by buying the 6 month package and then after that I bought it one month at a time when it expired and am now at Rank 12 and have since bought 3 or 4 more months after that. Right now, Rank 12 is the highest though.

The VIP benefit is about you pay to get the VIP benefit. Almost everyone knows if it expires, you will no longer have it.

Exactly, everyone wants that. Hence, they want you to pay for that. They are better selling points of VIP for me comparing with lockbox key. I bought VIP for 24 months now mainly for these 'helpful' tools. Lockbox keys are just extra bonus for me.

Yes, they want you to keep on paying and they want you to pay for something you really want and really hurt if you don't have it.

I can understand how frustrating it can be to waste money on vip when we don't get nothing good out of lockboxs I just thought maybe if they would had let us keep the signpost and mailbox I know it would of been nice gift out of vip or I would had told them ty cause I know how much vip can be expensive since I bet buying the signpost and mailbox as a combo I bet wouldn't be a great deal if it was only meant for one per character

Actually, I am not that frustrated at all because I bought VIP because of those service and as I said lockbox keys are just bonus to sweat the deal. The one that I really want the most is bank access.
That was why I got 12 months when VIP started.

If you bought VIP for lockbox keys and the services are bonus, no wonder you feel that way.

Look at it this way... you go buy a car and as part of a promotion it comes with a gas card worth $1000. When that gas card runs out do you go back to the dealership and ask for more free gas? No, now you need to pay for your own gas. Just because you had a free gas card at one time doesn't mean you will have free gas forever. :)

VIP is an incentive service, you pay for it because the perks of having it are considerably better than not having it... which is the entire point of why it exists! :)

A hint for you... if you buy 6-months at a time during the Black Friday/Jubilee events you can get a significant discount which makes VIP even more worthwhile!

It's a subscription!!! xP Stop complaining! If you stopped paying for you electricity, you can't have the benefits of having access to electricity, even though you still have all the wiring.

The keys should get you enough AD to renew VIP month to month (plus at least 30% profit) anyways.

I guess some players haven't figured out, that it's better to sell what you get from the lockbox directly for AD.
Instead they're probably opening the packs they get, and end up with some random cheap items from those...

Shhhh! If they all figure that out, Cryptic will raise the price. :)

I think the OP misunderstands VIP. You do not buy VIP it is not something to own permanently. You rent VIP. The duration of the rental depends on the package you choose.

The vip benefits ARE "somewhat" misleading. When they first came out they DID actually say they continued beyond the "subscription" (that's back before they modified the description wording so all your characters didn't get key, just one per account). The tiers do continue to confuse people, it's nowhere spelled out specificly that they run out, that it's is in the nature of a subscription and will expire. (that is deliberate because it's a F2P and advertised as such, they don't want wording out there that there is actually a subscription required for FULL access).

You can forgive some folks' confusion (especially some other language than english speaking folks) because vague wording leads them to another conclusion than reality. More so, because it's CRYPTIC, they are well know for their vague and confusing language. Even out and out untruthful in many instances! (just look at all the"bugged" winter event items) and the "vague" verbage concerning fixes and reimbursement.

It's the FIRST link, and Chrome translates pretty well now.

And from that page: "If your VIP time has expired, you will lose access to all loyalty benefits."

Yes, that is what I remember when it first came out. The description was pretty clear for me back then. As far as I know, people back then were very clear about this idea (based on various posts/thread discussion back then).

That does not matter if it was clear or not when it first came out.
OP was not there back then or he did not buy VIP until recently (as 6 months ago). Otherwise, he would not complain about
it now. When you go to Zen store, the description of VIP (1 month) is "30 days of VIP". That indicates VIP only last for
30 days without saying the word 'expire'.

Ok, so in reading the OP, I agree this has to just be trolling. The OP indicates he/she knew the VIP ran out. Not the best troll I've seen, but good enough to get this many people talking about it. I give it 4/10.
