I got an owlbear pup from a lootbox and thought it would be cool to keep. Once named and geared up, to the teeth with bondings--ouch!--it's an augment. :-(
OK, I wasn't paying attention, but did notice it goes for well over 2 million ad on the AH. Why does an augment run so high?

I use bonding on my augments since they give a good deal of power bonus, and don't lure unwanted aggro while I'm in stealth.
The Owlbear cub's (not pup?) active bonus does 50% of your power as damage on non-critical hit encounter powers.
It's good for low crit, high power builds and are useful for SW, but also as dps additions to low dps classes.
For my cleric, it adds about 10-20% of dps, but my dps output is usually still minor after this. It helps out with my dailies.

More like a tigrowlbear or a owlbeariger. (Their parents must have been busy ... )
Which class did you bind it to?
Owlbear damage seem to be affected by buffs/debuffs, and is still proccing from some effects it shouldn't, as far as I know, so it might still be worth using, at least for a while, assuming you're not running a 100% crit build. Probably not as summoned pet, but for the active bonus anyway.
Should have taken the 2 mil AD :-)
