Not NW per se, but the forums, since the recent changes the forum on quoting someones post 'replaces' \r\n (or \n, no idea, but however it marks newlines) with <br /> tags but doesn't remove the original newline, so the result is both new line and <br />, that makes the quoted text double empty lines.

Thank you for the report. It's very annoying. I think Vanilla messed some things up since their last update. I will make sure that Andy sees this.

This has actually been around since we moved to Vanilla. It happens when a user who posts in Simple HTML quotes a user who can only post in BBCode. We have not been able to have Vanilla fix this issue yet, as we'd like to have all users posting in the same format. Hopefully we'll be able to get Vanilla to repair this or make it so we can adjust the setting that is causing the despairity between who can post in HTML and who cannot.

hmm maybe, I just encountered it earlier trying to quote @morenthar
    I had to delete the
manually and then I gave up.
So if it's a user settings, maybe disable the offending option..

So @morenthar change it please ;)

Alas, it is not something a user can change themselves. For some unknown reason, some members can only post in BBCode while the rest can only post in Simple HTML. We've been trying to get Vanilla to fix this or give us the option to fix it ourselves for quite some time now.
