Only thing I want is to be able to automatically ignore any message the fits a user-generated regular expression. Seems most of the gold spam uses lots of non-alphabetic characters to get past server-side filters. Just let me ignore ( .*((\\.*|/.*)*){2,100}.* | .*([a-Z]*[1-9]+[a-Z]+){2,100}.* ) and I'd be happy. Sure I might catch a few "legitimate" messages with that, but honestly if you want to talk in leet speak I probably don't want to see your message anyway. O.o
One LAST time... this is something only a developer can install. Yes it would be nice, but pointless as if wishes were fishes. If everyone would read my post directly above yours, there are real solutions that players can do without the intervention of a developer. I don't have any issues with seeing the spambots on my end. Also my ignore list is clear, no one is ignored. Take the time to read the wiki and other source materials and learn about the system.
The Devs could just use the profanity filter as base, make the new chat filter client sided, let players add keywords, and messages trickering the new chat filter could be moved to another chat channel/window.
That shouldn't take up too much time, and no offense, but anything else is more like avoiding the issue to some degree, but not a real solution to this problem.
I do believe in killing the messenger...
Want to know why?
Because it sends a message!

It's not just spam bots I want gone, I want the bots running content in all areas gone.

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!

Please expand the "Spoiler" on the "[Hot Topic] I found a "Bot" player or players! How do I report them?" notation in the stickies Rules & Policies and Guidelines. Closing this up as the forum is not appropriate to report or discuss ToS/EULA Violations, as the sticky and Rules state.
