rewards from siege event

jarecord03jarecord03 Member Posts: 144 Arc User
I have been playing the siege event from the beginning and have had a horrible drop rate. over an hour for a single [Defense Supply] is typical. i had read/heard that the rate had been dropped, so i thought that was it, especially consider how ppl wear complaining of low drop rates. finally i find out others have been getting drops nearly all the time. 0.o ??? nooo. yes. >.< whisky tango foxtrot. !!!!!!!! The hours. Spent. Waiting. For nothing?

anybody else? low drops, high drops? can someone explain? Devs? really want to know on this one.

P.S. i'm a 4.1k item level, with dragon buffs, participating vigorously. and don't tell me its luck, i know my math.

    It's luck.

Personally, I've only gotten a batch of 3 defense supplies from an HE once, and a medal from an HE once. The rest of my medals come from traded in supplies, which I've been getting the bulk from the daily stronghold quest (5) and the 7 hour production task (3).

I'm around the 2.6 ilvl, and participating only enough to get the daily siege task done (but I've been doing it for most days). The reason I say it's luck is because I got one the supplies from running in right at the end and hitting a dragon maybe 5 times. The medal came from when I soloed a counter attack. Haven't had either drop a second time so far.

The drops that got reduced AFAIK were the stronghold vouchers.

i told you it's not luck.

i have run maybe 250 dragons over the past week and received a hand full of def. sup. While my guild mates have been getting hundreds for similar efforts.

the chances of me not getting that many drops are... astronomical? The exponents could be in the triple digits!

Your guildies got hundreds of defense supplies from HEs? Did they tell you from HEs or are you just looking at how many they're selling and making assumptions?

Getting them from HEs seems unlikely. Drop rate for them was always abysmal. "Hundreds" are much more likely from crafting them on alts as often as possible and doing the Master of Coin's daily quest for 5/alt.

If you have 20 characters, you can have 100 supplies per day without doing siege at all.

well, if this is truly the drop rate, then forget Siege Event. what a waste of time, worse event ever!

The Siege event is still good for farming vouchers and for quickly getting Tyranny campaign currency (helpful for building up alts, or just turn in to SH coffer).

It's not too huge of a burden to get the writs or the main currency from HEs and buy what you want with these. They do not expire and can be carried over multiple events. I missed enough days I'm short for artifacts, but no biggie if I want it later.

The gamble packs you can buy with defense supplies -> medals are usually going to drop garbage. The medic isn't worth anything because they are a common drop at Simril, and it's not really all that good anyway. If you're approaching the event like this is the most significant thing about it, I guess you're setting yourself up for disappointment. And if you just want to sell supplies, then get crafting or forget it.
