did we get that free pet for the gateway placation? (im patching) it any good?
Weirdly I got the pet reward but my friend did not - any idea why that would be? Do you need to qualify for this or something?
devs said something about had to have played gateway recently...

I have nothing good to say about this "gift". Mine's still sitting in the mailbox. If I ever used an augment again, this one would be at the bottom of the list. Two of the most worthless stats in NW in Regen and Movement. Who thought it was a good idea to stick those two stats on it? I'd like to kick them in the balls as this is what the "gift" feels like to me.

Anyone else having the problem that this pet causes considerable frame lag/stuttering?
Whenever I have it summoned and it's walking around (e.g. following me) my framerate drops. It's not so much a consistent FPS drop but rather random stuttering. Haven't had the issue with any other companion and it seems to be independent of the zone I'm in.

thinking of it gonna try my ioun stone and to see if its the regular event lag

My main characters always use ioun stones. Actually, most of my characters use augments as their active companion and I've not experienced any "lag" or fps issues. I've also not noticed any "lag" or fps issues with the Mini Apparatus of Gond either. ("Lag" and "FPS" are entirely different things by the way)

I did some more testing:
This does not happen with other augments I have (owlbear and chicken, although on another character).
It's also noticeable when other players with the mini appartus walk by me. Multiple apparatuses make things worse. I followed someone who had this pet while having my own summoned and my FPS tanked HARD.
It's worse in some areas than others. So far around the camp fire in the Dread Ring main camp is worst, especially while riding a horse for short distances or in circles. For example, without the apparatus I have around 40 FPS while riding around the camp fire. With it I get maybe 20 FPS. While following another player with this augment my FPS dropped to just over 10.
If the appartus is not moving everything is fine. This only happens when it walks around.
I have also noticed that if the apparatus is a bit further away (e.g. max follow range while riding a horse for longer distances) the issue goes away (edit: that is until it catches up again).
Edit: I think I've found the culprit: it's the apparatus' walking sound effect.
If I turn audio off (menu > options > audio > overall volume to 0%) the problem goes away. As soon as I turn it back on the above starts again.
This also explains the spikey, inconsistent FPS impact as the apparatus often moves in short bursts.
That's interesting - I suggest moving to preview, then after verifying it's still an issue, respec'ing, removing other companions and mounts and gear to remove any possible other interaction.
If you can video the issue, that's even better.
Write up the bug, include a description, expected and observed behavior, and steps to reproduce it.
Make sure to include your specific sound card and driver version.
Then, post that in the Bug Reports section and maybe include @strumslinger in your post. With a write up like this, QA can validate the bug much faster.
Just saying X is broken doesn't help them much - if they try to reproduce a report and can't, it's marked as not a bug and they move on... it's a major reason why bugs have gone unfixed for so long. We can show data, but until QA can repoduce a bug, it will never get fixed. Good luck!
