But if you WEREN'T the TR - if you were the healer or the tank, would you rather have a 2500IL GWF or a 2500IL TR in your group if both of them know how to play their character properly? Or take it back a bit, a 2100 IL of each - which would you rather have if you were the healer or tank?
It doesn't matter as long as the player can produce more damage than me when I'm playing as a healer or tank.
True, but when I'm healing- I often dread PUGs when I see a TR in there (which hurts me deep inside because I love my TR), because I'm fairly certain that unless one of the others characters is a monster - we are about to be weak in the DPS area and I'm in for a lot of healing/running around and much longer dungeons than when I see other characters in there.
I regularly run with one other TR - when the two of us run together our Damage is generally within a thousand or so of each other. I'm set up WK he's MI. His gear is slightly better than mine because of some better RNG with lock boxes but we are essentially the same. When we end up with other TR's of similar IL - they often do half the damage that he and I generally do. And I don't consider myself a high end TR.
So when we go into other dungeons and I'm on my healer and he's on his TR, I assume I would have done comparable damage as he does on my TR. So when we end up with one who is way more geared out and he doubles their damage, I can only shake my head.
We aren't the best of the best when it comes to TR's - we know that. We are still finding our way and tweaking them daily. The reason I feel so strongly that the TR needs some love is that the two of us (with totally different builds) do equal damage and out damage 95% of the TR's we or our friends have come across - but we also know that if we are playing with friends and all have similar IL - that we will be out damaged by everyone other than the tank and healer and we also lack the group benefits the other classes offer like buffs.
