"suck it all of ya, we'll do it like we want it, your resistance is futile and your feedback is as important as writing a letter to Santa".

This reminds me of the Alpha CN feedback, where they had quite early the chance to save CN from the awful hands of whoever made the design, and despite ALL the feedback they DIDNT CHANGE A THING, NOTHING, ZERO, not ONE friggin change....

There is supposed to be SOME amount of feeling that you don't have enough Voninblod

And, as the entire community told you when you introduced Black Ice, is a horrible way of forcing players to grind. And as with BI in the past, players just won't do it.
Except players did do it. A lot. What some people say and what we see players do are not always the same. Again, though I'm not saying its tuned right, but its probably not grossly off from my feelings of personal gameplay.
I'm sorry @panderus but you seem to be obstinately refusing to see the point that is being made here over and over again. Players may well be 'doing it' in significant quantities but they are almost universally hating doing it. The point being: mining/farming Voninblod is in no way, shape or form an enjoyable or fun way to spend time in the game. Clearly, the data you keep looking at is only telling you part of the story, but are you honestly going to try and convince people that 'they really were/are enjoying' mining Black Ice or farming for relics and Voninblod to empower their almost completely useless new pieces of gear when they keep telling you they aren't ?

Come at the issue from the developers side and think about these questions:

How do you know it is universally hated? If so many people hate it, why would they keep doing it (admittedly, some subset of players will do whatever is hated if it gains them power)? How do you measure how many people are doing it despite hating it?

Is there a clear answer to any of those?
Look at the other angle, how do you know people like it? You are testing the endurance of your players. A lot of people can endure certain level of torture, it does not mean they don't hate it. IMO, this is worse than black ice and you know what happened to black ice. You "upgraded" the level of torture and test if you players will break. Is that what you are doing?
*** The game can read your mind. If you want it, you won't get it. If you don't expect to get it, you will. ***

I was not playing this game when the BI set was introduced. So, I cant compare these two. I can only state how this voninblod looks for me here.
I only empowered the boots for my GF. One piece.
I won't do another everlasting grinding piece even if someone offers me a legendary.
Lanolin? Pray to god u will win it. At least with the motes u knew u got 1 for every HE. Now u just hope and curse your next player for having a better luck than u.
Voniblod? Hahaha my GF cant even complete his last boon for the campaign this one piece eats it all up xD
Is there some end to all that voni grinding: Nope of course u need to farm for ever and ever. Where's the feel of completion? I feel like I achieved nothing.
I play FBI just for the rings. Always change my gear to my DF when entering. I make fun of anyone who tells me he's aiming for that set, he should spent his time playing not holding a trovel.
I regret buying all that frostburn armor for 3 of my toons, waste of tradebars :( u dont even need that 28% to play the dung.
If you can't convince them confuse them.
