@panderus @terramak - Just a thought here, but you should consider extending the Solo Queue event for another week and see how your Ambush Ring change (which I support, though I personally feel doesn't go far enough) effects the overall experience. It will give you a good, hard line in your data too - a week with existing rings and a week with the changed version.
This will help your analysis in two ways.
1. You can see the difference in pvp between how it is currently and how it is with the change with solo queue in effect.
2. Most importantly. You can rule out any problems or oddities you might have in your existing data set. Understand, the Ambush ring is a huge imbalance in PvP, so a lot of data you may have collected over the past week may not be as accurate as you may think, especially since you're changing this major PvP imbalance AFTER you are scheduled to stop collecting solo queue pvp data.
I think to ensure your data is accurate, you should extend the Solo Queue experiment.

Another issue with the timing selected for the Solo Queue trial was to run it concurrently with one of the more popular CTAs.

I've also noticed that folks have figured out that queuing together often results in you being on the same team. I've played 3-4 games in a row where 4/5 opponents were the same (and were from a PVP guild, obviously). Objectively, it seems like the system more or less fills up the matches in order 5 on one team, 5 on another and triggers the q accept when the match fills up. So if folks consistently queue together they can often get on the same team.
It's a shame, because it reintroduces the whole pug vs. premade feel you get in regular queue. I'm not sure if it's possible to look at randomizing the teams once you complete a group of 10 players, or better yet doing some sort of iLvl balance among the group of 10.
Been having a lot of fun, but the frequency of landslide matches with drastically imbalanced iLvl is still too high.
I agree that the ring changes will help, though I have not seen TOO many people using it when I have played.
Also, in the middle of a fight with multiple folks, sometimes it's hard to tell when some pops invisible. It's when you're 1v1 that it becomes a problem.
Good news that there will be more opportunities, I would suggest for subsequent tests though to coordinate to make sure there won't be any major changes that will affect pvp and also other queue events like CTA that might affect participation numbers, otherwise all the variables make it hard to tell whats really going on.

I didn't do as much as I wanted, as Becky mentioned there was Battle for the Bridge which is a nice quick CTA as well as other activities that I don't like to interrupt, dailies etc but I got my first Prestige piece today which was very satisfying.
