How can you possibly refer to customers that paid real money for character slots as 'bots'? And you get mad when people get upset when you post misinformation?
People that this affects greatly are NOT bots... Have the powers that be put rAD into ALL quest rewards so people can gain currency 'playing the game' and not behind activities that not everyone likes to do. ALL other MMOs that I've played allowed you to earn that major currency by questing. Why is this one different?
Again, we are not bots...
I posted no misinformation... just not enough information as some clearly wanted. Also, I did not call players bots, I called AD-Sellers Bots... I don't consider those scum people. Try to not get hung up on little things and instead do read all of my posts here in their entire context, not just one or two and not just bits and pieces. When read in their entirety and in the singular context they purvey, I am confidant that folks will understand my point. If not, then I apologize and kindly ask that you move on and disregard. Thanks!
On the comment about people fooling themselves if they didn't see this coming... I could say the same for those thinking this won't have a drastic impact on player retention. Not bot retention, as they'll find something else to exploit. Player retention... I did not see this coming, and frankly I didn't think invoking rewarded enough rAD since players can't earn the games major currency any way other than running the same skirmishes and dungeons ad nauseum.
This game already walks a razors edge as far as keeping people interested, and taking away one of the major ways people had to make meaningful advancement on their characters could (should) cause a snowball effect. The casual players, seeing their advancement further crippled, leave. Then the players who can no longer sell their lockbox castoffs (and there's a lot of those!). Then, since the profits on everything that sold previously start drying up, without the AD coming into the economy like it should, so the whales start to bail. Pretty soon the only ones playing will be bots, and then you'll have finally defeated them, since they'll leave too.
Great plan!

"Anything that is easy will be botted and scripted.. "
So you either have to make things terribly complex as a human check, or dont have them in the game at all.
I personally dont mind the change, other then, cant we just invoke once a day.. whats the point of having us invoke every round? Its super annoying now. People dont stay in the game to invoke again, some may log back on to do it, but its not a reason we stay online..
I'm find the change to be okay, however I also am a master with a spreadsheet, and have my toons micromanaged to the point of knowing exactly when I will earn AD, how much, and in the best and most efficient manner.
I enjoy thinking strategically on how I'm going to get everything done in the playtime I have (considering I main 5 toons, yes you read that right, 5). However I am not a standard gamer - most people play for the enjoyment. They don't want to have to worry about which toon do I run a skirmish vs dungeon vs get that weekly done. They don't wish to be bogged down for 20 mins moving salvage around, or working out which T1/T2 pieces give the best ad per seals (It's the ones that cost 300 seals).
If the devs wish for us to earn AD by playing, then that's 100% okay. What needs to change is the costs. We had AD costs reduced slightly due to the leadership AD changes. I'd hope that the devs look at the prices (companion upgrades!!!) and readjust accordingly. We can no longer use invoke AD to help better our mains (unless you want to learn to micromanage your account - hell, I should run classes and charge a fee... I do need gmops for upcoming 2xRP...)

Characters that you never play with -- only invoke -- are the only ones that lose out. Which was the intention: more rewards for playing, less for characters you don't play.
So, Zebular, I have 16 characters the majority of which, I paid real money for the slots. I can not possibly play each character every day. I justified getting additional slots and supporting Cryptic by spending that money on the understanding that I would be able to use those characters the way the game was set. Now you have changed the nature of the mechanics. So, how about Cryptic reimburses me for those extraneous and now useless slots?
And by the way, it isn't "Characters" who lose out. It is players, specifically players who have spent real money on your game.
Making characters specifically to bot invocation seems like quite a unreasonable argument to ask for compensation when things are changed to actually make it so one truly plays the game to advance. Besides, you'd done have gotten your AD's worth back by now I am sure from those 16 characters. I know mine paid for themselves in the first month, and then some. So it seems pretty illogical to ask for compensation when those characters slots have already been paid for, and them some, by the use of the invocation system in which they were used for.
This shows how comprehensively out of touch you are.
I am not rewarded for playing the game, the things I most like to do DON'T AWARD ADs or don't award many (I don't really enjoy any of the 5-10 man content atm in the post pally nerf world). You are only rewarded if you go out of your way to do the tasks that do, so I compensated by having 15 level 70s to invoke. So play the game Cryptic's way or go nowhere. Sadly I'm seeing all the same mistakes as were made by Cryptic in the early days of CoH which was only saved (and given another 5+ years of life) by them selling it.
Basically atm I prefer playing solo, or in 25-40 man content, and this is just not rewarding in terms of ADs without an obscene amount of playtime.

once again needs to be said - dont get AD by playing game as cryptic stated countless times, but having salvage alt army (so not playing a game in the way they said countless times). zero credibility
Vent your frustration creatively instead of derogatively. Thanks.
My venting of frustration is to creatively suggest that the total daily benefit of invoking go into two invokes per day instead of (I think it's) 7. That way I can spend more time 'playing the game' and less time invoking but still get my full AD credit, XP credit and coins on all alts. Casual players could then easily save up their weekday credits for weekend benefit. I think the Gods of Neverwinter are too demanding of praise and should chill out.
I completely respect the devs in charge wanting to make changes to make the game better, however I don't believe this was a better change. I have 3 players that I try to play at least the weeklies on every week, sometimes more if time allows. I have 8 toons total. I got back from vacation a few days ago and so far have only had time to play one of them everyday. I have seen zero bonus AD even though I have done the weeklies for Sharandar, WoD and DR, as well as salvaged a ton of rings and armor that I have gotten playing dungeons. If I am missing the extra AD then I simply don't get the whole new system. Other than getting the little purple bags that have refinement items in them, or invoking for the XP on characters that are not at 70, there is no reason to log on to a character more than once a day to set up professions and invoke once. I got 3K base AD's for my level 70 characters a day and that was ok. Someday I do want to play them and get things I need to make them better toons and more fun. I am a mom with 6 kids and simply don't have enough time to play all of them now. Now I wonder what the point is in playing them at all. You can't earn diamonds doing professions, now you can't earn them invoking, so what is the point in playing. I really think this is a decision that should be revisited so that number one any changes made aren't so difficult to understand and number two so that people will want to keep coming back to a toon that might have sat for a while, because there will be something to come back too. Thanks.

Not that I condone "bots" or "botting" but what do you consider garbage men, street cleaners, maids, landscapers etc? Should everyone be required to do every menial task themselves or be labeled scum? People like to do what they want to do and pay others to do what they consider menial. AD sellers are technically no different. If people LIKED doing all these AD generating activities there would be no need for AD sellers.
It's just the way of the world and if you design a game with boring stuff that people don't like and don't want to do, there will always be a market for a way around doing it. So, you want to get rid of botting? Get rid of the need and then it will go away.
It'd be nice if they added RAD to mission rewards. Star Trek Online did this and it made sense then to play alternate characters through all the missions because you'd get some more currency to use for account unlocks or to gear up your main playing character.
(though lets be honest no one does WOD , its way to long)
I do it every week.
Why would you? I don't know what the prices look like in PC Neverwinter but in the Xbox version you get more AD just by selling those 15 coffers instead of trading those in for 4.5k rough AD. Average price on Xbox per coffer is 500 - 800 AD. I guess it will be the same on PC.

Wrong - 1 is worth 254 AD on PC at the moment - so you make more by doing the weekly (especially since it also uses the bonus invoke pool, so you get 6750 if you have enough AD bonus).
I really don't understand why people say that WoD is difficult to do? It takes 10 mins, if that to kill everything. You get the coffers from running Heralds - no one does the weekly by just killing things alone. I have 5 mains that I usually have at least 50-80 coffers on each toon, because my 1 round of heralds a week ends up between 6-12 dragons per toon.
People need to be smarter in how they do their weeklies. 5 main toons - all 6 weeklies that grant AD - 2.5 hours. And that's pausing to invoke in the middle.

So, if i play an Alt Toon, and do all invocations during 7 days, i will have a 7x3920=27440 AD bonus pool ?
Now, if i want to benefit of this AD Bonus Pool entirely, i need to earn 54880 AD, right ?
