Artificers are particular to Stormreach, as are warforges. I don't see them in sword coast...ever.
There are particulars to the various game campaigns , Artificers and warforges have not suffered the spell plague, in that world, the Gods have not died. If the spell plague had happened, the war forges, by their nature would all have died..spectacularly. and Artificers would have become nearly powerless.
Then there is Dragon Lance where everyone 'forgot' who the real Gods were.
Sometime it is best to keep Campaigns separate...but that is me.
I had to look up what the spell plague and warforged were. I'll concede that the warforged would probably have died (not sure why we're talking about them), but I can't imagine why artificers would have been any worse off than any other magic users. At worst I can imagine that temporarily infused items might have exploded, which would cause quite a bit of injury at the start of the spell plague. A few of them might have gone mad and their magic wouldn't have worked, just like other magic users. Though during it they probably would have fared better than most magic users since they usually use regular weapons (ex.: crossbow).

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!
Would like to see a class that uses a crossbow. and be a hybrid class between trickster and hunter ranger.

Monks have been around since D&D, as in before AD&D 1st edition. although it wasn't until AD&D 1st edition they were called monks. In D&D they were called mystics instead. Probably for the same reason we had "Immortals" instead of gods and clerics belonged to Orders (defined as clerical societies) instead of churches. Original D&D tried very hard to avoid having religions, especially for the PC's.
And yes Kara Tur, as well as Al Qadim. Even Chult and Rashemen are unlike the "standard Realms" setting, but are in the same world.

Druids would be a lot of fun with a Shapeshift / Summons / Heal tree. Would have to find a way to fit some DD and control spells in there aswell hehe
