Bonding stack duration is refreshed by continued companion attacks

I have just repatched preview as of 6:30 pst and it appears that this is still an issue

Bug: Bonding stacks are supposed to last 20 seconds and then fall off. Currently on preview (ever since the change to grant 1 bonding stack worth a total amount of your bonding stone) your companion attacks, procs bonding, and then continued attacks by the pet will replace the old bonding stack with a new stack with 20 seconds of duration.

With 3x r12 bondings (95% stats each) this means that you permanently receive 285% of your pets stats while in combat. This is contrary to the tooltip of the bonding stones on preview and a vast change from how bonding stones work on live (where a stack falls off and must be reapplied after 20s).

@terramak @strumslinger Could someone please comment on this and explain if this is WAI? This was reported within 30 minutes of the when the bonding change was first released to preview and no one has acknowledged it.

    i am asking the same in multiple topics for the last 3 versions - still no clue wai or not (crucial info about character buildup)
    Please fix Zhentarim Warlock companion's skill "Arcane Warping" to the originally intended "Arcane Boost"

    Pure -> Transcendent Plague Fire weapon enchantment giving 80damge/20 seconds for 500k+ AD is a joke.

    I believe it's intended for the time being. I know there's a lot of discussion about the change and whether they're overpowered in their state post-patch, but the intent of the fix for this module was to address the obviously-overpowered stat spikes and smooth out the gameplay a bit. We can review the runestones further going forward. Thank you (and many others) for providing feedback on this change!

    i.e. Don't worry suckers will nerf them into oblivion after everyone has them.

    Then be upset. Unfortunately the devs think granting insane power is a good thing so the earliest you will see a change is when mod 10 launches in August, if ever
