Harper Bard appears to be BiS for buff/debuff DCs if you can afford it.
The tier 4 boons in Sharandar and Dread Ring have 2 minutes internal CD. This means that you choose between 20k healing or 20k damage every two minutes. In my opinion, 40k damage is pretty insignificant while 40k healing is a lifesaver from getting two shot. When soloing, that healing along with Divine Glow will keep you up until you get 10 stacks of Negation.
You have 7.8% deflect chance, which makes it very inconsistent. It may be more efficient to put those into Lifesteal, Defense, or HP.
Since you're going a relatively low Crit chance build, it also may be more efficient to replace your Crit Severity companions with % damage bonus or Combat Advantage companions. Although Crit Severity does affect heals, so it's a tradeoff. You may also want to consider an Owlbear Cub, since you're going for a high power/low crit build.
Another thing to note is that your loadout only has Divine Glow for AoE damage. If you're running a debuffing enchantment, such as Terror or Plaguefire, you may want to get an additional AoE spell since Divine Glow is bugged and does not apply weapon enchantments.
About ability scores, cha is unconditionally better than int and dex is only relevant for high deflect builds (pvp). So you'd want to roll for the lowest possible combinations of those two stats.
Overall, great guide!
The Harper Bard - The only thing I hate about that companion is the two defense slots, if it at least had two offense, I would have love it. It's a viable option though, because of the 'Discordant Discouragement' ability.
Good point about the 4th tier boons in Shar & DR. I personally never saw the big deal in them anyway, but chose the offense just for the theme of righteous but the defense ones may actually benefit in case of the 'oh HAMSTER!!' situations. For my specific build, I can see that change. If you're mentioning the silveries in my defense slot with the whole deflect chance, that's only because I specc every now and again to do pvp as AC faithful. I don't have spare enchantments to keep switching out silveries for azures/radiants/darks. So ignore that.
That's the main reasoning I mentioned crit severity pets, for that stronger healing when you actually crit. The % dmg/CA companions will have to pass for me. The owlbear, I discussed this with a fellow guild mate of mines and after testing, really confirmed to myself it's a great choice & will add it along my other options. (Just need to note it's a bit expensive right now, 3-8 mil +).
It's a shame DG still doesn't work with weapon enchantments. This has to be the most buggy move DC's have. At least with crits, DG procs fire of the gods but with your wep enchantments, I'll add another suggestion based on this. (Likely chains)
I should have noted that along with this balance roll, it fits perfect for me since I respecc to do pvp whenever it's needed too. In the bigger picture, this balance won't hurt regardless but I do see what you're saying.
I really appreciate the feedback man, thank you ^_^
Congratulations! Finally an updated guide for clerics that can go righteous and still heal with a decent amount.
Our builds are a bit similar in case of feats. I picked gift of haste and have faith since i have other good outgoing heal sources. Also i went for mitigation, deflection, recovery and regeneration and i still have good crit and power. Lathander's set is very cheap and useful too.
Good job!
Nice!, good to see another person has something similar to this and it works well. Just proves DC's can have so many different, valid builds when you test enough and find something that fits you.
Hi, I'm a complete noobie when it comes to support classes. My primary is a GWF using Lia Knowles build. I'm getting ready to create a DC to help out my guild as we have lots of DPS. I'm on Xbox One btw but I believe we are caught up with PC now. Would this build qualify as a debuff DC? I'm looking to help my teams melt everything as fast as possible but still be able to provide a few heals here and there if needed as I believe the OP nerf is coming soon for us.

Wow Jarek, what a great guide. Some very good discussion here as well.
Going to be interesting to see what Mod 10 brings and how the DC fits in. I always have some re-spec tokens ready because we DCs need to be able to adapt and make changes in order to best support the party.
Thanks for this great guide. Very well done, and thanks to the active posters as well, as they say knowledge is power. I always appreciate getting solid info from excellent players, the community is amazing here
Has anyone tested how bonding runestones interact with DCs now? I've been seeing my DC with 23k power hit 118k power while soloing (r12 bondings on a warlock with loyal avenger gear and r8 azures). I think it might be blessing of battle stacking over and over again when the bonding stacks refresh.

Myself and @bonnine tested this already and I don't know what to properly say/explain this. It clearly works, with weapons of light, BoB spamming over and over & AA used, you get insane power and because of how bonding works now, not only that it stays up, it can get even higher and higher if you're working it right/spamming enough. The first pic you're gonna see here is how much I got it up to thanks to BoB spam with AA whenever I can use it which was alot & 2 Weapons of light since another righteous was close to me but not really doing anything. (The pet being in range to get all these buffs)
The second pic is myself & @bonnine being together, close to one another, using AA together on the pet, with two weapons of light & the BoB buff. I didn't take pics fast enough but it actually didn't go up that much from me originally getting that first pic. (Again, the pet was around to get the BoB buff, AA & Weapons of light from the both of us)
Really ridiculous & inconsistent numbers that needs to be re-evaluated in my opinion. The way the bondings stay up how it constantly refreshes to 20 secs, needs to be checked again & fixed
This was a side test to mention, basically it was all me, no one around and it gave me a weird numbers between 155k - 190k
*Forgot to mention as well I have protector's camaraderie. This might be a case of more AC DC's = higher numbers
That isn't an issue with Bonding Stones themselves. The same thing happened at the 10 DC Demogorgon run and 25 DC Tiamat run before the Bonding changes. It stacks on itself because AA applies based on your current power, so theoretically you only need 2 DCs to continuously stack power, although it becomes much more consistent and quicker with more people.
Furthermore, Weapons of Light and possibly AA affect companion power, which then feeds back to you with Bonding procs.
The root of the problem lies with how the power boost from AA and Weapons of Light are used in calculations for both themselves and other buffs.
Top Tier - Currently, it's the Dragonflight/Elemental Dragonflight gear. The best combo to rock in my opinion for this build will be 3/4 Dragonflight Restoration (The helm, chest piece and bracers) and 1/4 Dragonflight Raid (The boots). My reason for this specific combo because it gives an excellent amount of critical with a big piece of recovery from the chest.
Alternatives - If the dragonflight gear isn't immediately in your reach, then settle for the alliance restoration set (The T1 set from the PE vendor) and from that, move on to the Elven set. (3/4 Restoration Set which will be the bracers, helm and boots and 1/4 Assault which will be the chest piece for the power and crit)
Just curious what you thought, but my build is very similar to yours with a couple of tweaks here and there. The armor section though I wanted to ask a question. I decided to go with Dusk head + chest and Elem DF arms + boots. I'm nearly always in a party so the added stats will amount to about 1,800 total stats more than full DF including more power, recovery and defense with similar, if slightly less HP and crit. Did you consider the Dusk + DF combo? Obviously the in a party piece is important...
My other question is the companion, are you using a bonder after the change? Which one do you like?

I actually have considered the combo. I do love that 2 set bonus of the 5000 hp, 1000 power & defense. It's something I've forgot recently with my update to add to the guide itself. In terms of the pieces with DF & dusk, off the top of my head I will probably go with the Dusk chest & braces with the DF helm & boots. My reasoning for that is the DF head piece gives like 939 power while three pieces of DF gives an additional 500 power. If I was to minus the head piece to go with the dusk's restoration head piece which I believe has no power in the first place, by that account think I'll lose about 439 power which I'll go crazy over lol. I think with that combo I mentioned I'll probably lose power still but not so much compared to the other combo. I should mention the dusk set because of party play (The only time I really don't party up is in DF's, tiamat, heralds) so thanks for this reminder.
As for the companions I'm using, I'll post a pic on the guide when I get a 5th decent companion. At this time, my main is indeed a companion with bondings slotted which is the sellsword because of that 10% shred of target's defenses which ACT shows it's a 10% increase in dmg for your party. (Unlocked at lvl 30) It's pretty great & the sellsword's effect stacks so if you're in a party with two other sellsword users that's you + 2 = 30% increase. The rest of my companions that's filling my active slots are the lillend, erinyes, dancing blade & the warlock (The warlock is useless & just looking for a companion to replace that with a good/great active). To note to you as well, the ambush drake is pretty great to have if you do since that debuff is 20% & I never got to test a harper bard but the words of people told me it's pretty great.
Good point on the pieces; Dusk chest/braces and DF head/feet....I have both full sets so I'll see which ones i'm using right now and likely swap to that if I haven't already. Ty for the companion info, I had the Con Artist to epic awhile ago during my learning stages....I learned I shouldn't have done that. I've been using him as a bonder, but it has 1 def slot. I'm not sure I feel like ranking up the Sellsword whose combat powers are almost identical just for the 1 more off slot, then again, maybe I do cause....powah. We'll see...either way, thanks, it has been very cool to have a thread and see others than run similar styles and builds as mine. For a long time my guild was almost all DO and I was one of 2 AC. People are coming around...

The Con Artist has the same abilities as the sellsword & the key difference besides that whole extra offense slot, the con artist I believe is three ring slots which I believe the 'sudden' rings work in them. I'm not totally sure but I was told that it actually does work on them. The reason I haven't mention the con artist because I felt like based on the name, it was supposed to be a 'rogue' companion but it reality, it's the same exact thing like the sellsword, even with that debuff ability so I don't get why they did that. I'm trying to say the con artist maybe was supposed to be different to the sellsword but they never noticed. Overall, since you already have it, it has the same debuff ability like the sellsword, there's no real reason honestly to switch, especially if you have the con artist on epic/legendary. That's too much of an investment to switch if you don't have the AD, just for an extra offense slot.
I did a brief trial of a con artist with Sudden rings slotted this morning and I did not appear to be getting any benefit from them. Can anyone confirm that this is actually working?

I tried the sudden, it does actually seem to work. Nowhere as good as rising however. Rising sustains those stats. I got a +5 rising lifesteal & sudden lifesteal + 5 on my HR's companion (Fire Archon) & both work, it's just rising's own, the 10 stacks stay up, while sudden is only for a short moment in combat. When everything procs for me with my bondings on, my lifesteal raises up to 42% & while my companion is attacking to keep the rising lifesteal up, I see a sudden 10% raise from 42% to 52% which has to be my sudden ring proccing on the archon since sudden +5 is 4000 lifesteal & 4000 lifesteal = 10% & it also appears on the companion's tab along with the rising but as mentioned, it isn't up for long.
I like this a lot! I'm an xbox player but since the haste nerf have been struggling to fill that support role. I dont mind being support as it gets me more matches and group invs that my main GWF does, will probably spend out for a respec based on this.

Nice man. Well make sure to also read the variations part of my guide as well because you can probably still use haste if you specc as righteous but for self ap gain & I mentioned there how to specc into gift of haste as an option.

Testing out the Sudden rings, I personally feel they weren't really worth it on the companions. Not for my liking anyway. Yes, I did see an increase over Avenger, but not enough of one that made me want to dump the consistency of the Avenger (or Bites) gear for them. I noticed that the sudden rings didn't seem to come off cooldown on my companions but they did on me - when combat ended. That made the uptime of Sudden even worse. I haven't tried them in a bit but that was my experience with them.
I haven't tried the Rising rings myself but a guildie has and stated they liked them much better.

We had a heated debate about these rings yesterday in guild chat. Somethings to consider:
1) In many cases the armor pen in the Loyal Avenger gear is not necessary and already overstacked 2) For a higher crit severity build rising precision would out perform loyal avenger because crit out performs power until you reach 100% crit chance (assuming your crit severity is > 100%) 3) Sudden works on augments, rising doesn't
So it really depends on how and which your using
Where the mod 8/9 rings really take advantage is for budget players who like to play alts. While they may not be BIS they are BOA. So lets say you got the gutbuster with 3 rings slots on 7 different characters. You can save yourself by using 3 demonic rings instead of purshing 21 loyal avenger rings. You can spend the ad saved on the rings and maintaining 42 enchants on making sure you got the best enchants on those 3 demonic rings.
So I haven't been thrilled with the Con Artist...I mean it's okay, but that 1 Def slot kinda ticks me off. I also don't like that he's melee, it takes a bit longer for him to run up to mobs and attack vs ranged. He does proc well for protectors, keeps the debuff up and generally isn't awful. Still...so I tried the Dragonborn Raider after talking with @darthtzarr - was his idea - and I like it at first glance. I didn't do any official tests and I didn't use ACT but, It has 3 offensive slots, active of 300 power is useful, though not amazing, 1 ring slot and stayed at about medium range for all attacks. Also proc'd protectors very quickly. Overall, I think I'm liking this one as my bonder. Thought I'd share.

Ok so I used the free respec given to DC's and went with the vanilla version, i.e. no haste. So far, I'm seeing roughly the same amount of AP gain post-Haste (lol) so I dont think I am missing out not having Haste. This is without a Burning set (still on Ensorcelled) and without using DC Sigil. I have Terror slotted as opposed to Dread or Plaguefire, since I got it out a box!
Do you have any recommendations for Solo'ing encounters? Currently I'm going with Divine Glow, Daunting Light, Forgemasters. These seem to gen me much AP and can kill most "big" mobs in a couple of rotations (AS, BoB x2, DG, Divinity DLx3, Empowered FF, DG, repeat).
Also I'm currently running the Greather Lathander set, which I guess given your guide means this isnt BiS and I need the Tiamat set instead?

For soloing I'd say go with Chains, Divine Glow, BTS - Daunting is difficult to aim and BTS is double the buff of FF (when cast empowered).
Hello again, first of all wanted to say great guide. My DC is progressing nicely. And I'm learning slowly how to be good debuff DC, lol. As I said before my main is a gwf, so yeah night and day difference. I have a few questions and comments if Jarek or anyone can help me out pls. Ok, first off wanted to know what powers I should be running solo?
And what powers with groups for best buff/debuff that don't really require heals?
And what order for best results as far as best buffs/debuffs go?
I have been using ast shield, divine glow, break the spirit, b.o.b. and ast seal in cn. It's seems to work well as my I throw down ast shield my GF casts ITF and stuff melts with good dps. Killed orcus within like 5 secs a few times now.
Oh and while I'm empowered what's best move? I've been using break the spirit while empowered. I had been doing ast shield first, then divinity mode while charged divine glow 3 times then break the spirit. Oh and casting ast. seal and b.o.b. in between. I definitely realize I'm probably doing it wrong but stuff still melts. Any guidance in the right direction is greatly appreciated, I want to be the best DC that I can be for my guild and burn groups. Sorry if I missed this info in the guide or comments already. Thanks again, very good guide.

If you solo and taking the agro, daunting isn't that hard to aim. It's when you don't have agro and their actions become unpredictable that it can be troublesome. I use:
Chains of Blazing light (damage, CC and to gets passive debuffs started), Divine Glow (debuff and damage), 3xDivine Daunting Light (damage and builds empowerment), and fully empowered Daunting Light. Anything left standing can be used to rebuild divinity.

My loadout too when soloing as well as running CTAs. When in a group, I usually switch Chains for Bastion if I see that the group needs some heals. If not, Chains on mobs and BtS or FF on boss.
Ok, so I've found a setup I like while doing dailies. I've been going Chains, DG, and FF(or BTS), ast. seal, and LoF. I use a Perfect Plague atm by the way. I've never ran Chains, in cn yet. I've been just sticking with the setup I mentioned before. I'm just confused as to the stacking of the debuffs/buffs and if I'm doing so correctly. I love having DG in cn, cause of the tagging the mobs with it, and the baby heals it provides the group although they usually don't need them but you never know with pugs. I find ast. shield is a must for for me in cn because 95% of the time I'm running with a buddy who is a GF. So the only thing I could really swap is BTS, but unsure if I should do so, maybe try with chains instead? Or I've not played around with Daunting Light yet.
Also I've only ran a few Edemo on my DC and yeah I'm not the best healer in there and people need heals now because of the pally nerf on Xbox. What would be the loadout I should run in Edemo??
As always any advice, tips, etc is very much appreciated. Jarek would really like your input. Thank You.

Empowered Daunting Light is great especially when dropped on a mob that is tightly packed (CWs OF or FI). Heavenly Lasers of Death. You just have to time it right. There is a noticeable delay between key press and activation.

As an AC Righteous DC, I run DL/DG/Bastion during phase 1 and BtS/DG/Bastion for phases 2 and 3 (unless there's another DC running BtS then I switch for FF). Between DG and Bastion, I pump out good heals; not as good as Virtuous but good enough for most I think.
I aim to misbehave

Don't forget DG doesn't help with keeping your plague stacked and if your running DG and AS you have to encounters that are not stacking plague. If you run DG, AS, and BoH then you may as well not have a weapon enchant at all. So basically if your using plague you pretty much need to focus on offensive powers.
CN rotations vsry by mob. If with a GF i use AS but never without (well maybe on bosses but only if the tank is very weak). Use lots of chains/divine chains to spread debuffs. I typically end up swapping out powers at each encounter.
I basically use chains instead of BtS except on the boss fights. Typically mob fights are to short to get real value from BtS and using AOEs to spread debuffs is more effective.

I haven't tried the Rising rings myself but a guildie has and stated they liked them much better.
1) In many cases the armor pen in the Loyal Avenger gear is not necessary and already overstacked
2) For a higher crit severity build rising precision would out perform loyal avenger because crit out performs power until you reach 100% crit chance (assuming your crit severity is > 100%)
3) Sudden works on augments, rising doesn't
So it really depends on how and which your using
Where the mod 8/9 rings really take advantage is for budget players who like to play alts. While they may not be BIS they are BOA. So lets say you got the gutbuster with 3 rings slots on 7 different characters. You can save yourself by using 3 demonic rings instead of purshing 21 loyal avenger rings. You can spend the ad saved on the rings and maintaining 42 enchants on making sure you got the best enchants on those 3 demonic rings.
Chains of Blazing light (damage, CC and to gets passive debuffs started), Divine Glow (debuff and damage), 3xDivine Daunting Light (damage and builds empowerment), and fully empowered Daunting Light. Anything left standing can be used to rebuild divinity.

Thank You.
