When will we see cosmetic armor in lockboxes?

tundrrabloomtundrrabloom Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 297 Arc User
Now that the AD costs have dropped drastically for changing your look, when will start seeing armor set cosmetics start dropping in lockboxes?

We get regular weapon transmutes from Call to Arms, and there are a couple outfits in the current siege. However a regular helm, chestpiece transmute to look forward to would be great!

Cosmetics should be one of the backbones of the Zen store. They are a safe, non-P2W source of revenue. They should never be something relegated to the gamble boxes.

In zen store, not in lockboxes pls.

But why let you pay for what you want when they can let you pay for the lotto ticket for what you want?

    Keys, keys, keys!

Otherwise, yeah, I totally agree, there are good "free-to-play" games which maintain profits entirely off of the "pay to look cool" paradigm.

I agree 100%. What this game needs now is a wardrobe overhaul similar to the mount stable, and then adding as many possible cosmetic options to the game as possible.

People love playing MMO-Fashion-Barbie-Dress-Up in these games. There's piles of money to be had.

More dyes. More outfits. Even allowing players to transmute across armor categories. Why not?

Let them have fashion, I say!

Mhm. I suspect that cosmetic stuff all got shunted from the Zen store to the T-bar store because sales were on the sluggish side, but the biggest reason players who care about aesthetics avoid engaging with fashion more in NW is because of inventory issues.

Every fashion outfit you own is as much as 3 spaces you can't use for storing the refinement that NW devs seem to like to force us to pack around.

    • Fashion items now have 2 or 3 slots for flair.
    • Flair comes in different shapes: badge, button, embroidery, patch, pin
    • You can have 5 active fashion items.
    • Flair is available from lockboxes and every 1000th skill node.
That's how to monetize it and justify the overhaul.

All that flair and my characters are gonna be decked out like gem sweaters.

It is about fictional characters in a phantasy universe, isn't it?
Even those with a character stats fetish would complain if they were supposed to now accept graphical cubes for mobile objects instead of animated 3D models.

The trouble of: What will this character wear? ... I was wondering about the temperature in Neverwinter City? And why do adventurers enter a tavern all wearing armor and shiny weapons? ... And so forth.

Have your customers come back every day, primary casino rule, like in AD from leadership. The pricing on fashion was lowered when fashion was moved to trade bars, wasn't it? But now fashion is gated behind a every day gamble for trade bars. That is Zen for VIP plus daily login.

I miss a bit on variety in fashion. There is enough glorious outfit stuff to be had, but more simple clothing like that seen on Neverwinter commoners is missing. Maybe I'm just special in not wanting my characters to be special. I very much prefer my characters to be simple adventurers, not hero, just honored to accompany some of those famous people every now and then.

Don't forget they nuked the fashion themselves.
eventual buyers usually also wear a armor enchant.
Enchant makes fashion and gear customization impossible (example - you are a big blue ball of light with negation).
    Here go the fashion sales.
Please fix Zhentarim Warlock companion's skill "Arcane Warping" to the originally intended "Arcane Boost"

Pure -> Transcendent Plague Fire weapon enchantment giving 80damge/20 seconds for 500k+ AD is a joke.

+ 1 to wardrobe overhaul similar to the mount stable

I am a fan of fashion sets and unfortunately even with the runic bags of holding, the amount of fashion items and dyes is getting to an extravagant size. There is just not enough room for it all. So i would give a kidney for a fashion and dyes wardrobe. It would make life easier.

The cross transmute would be a good start for cosmetics and i bet cryptic could keep a fairly good flow of cash coming by making new cross transmutes attainable in the store for a few zen a piece, little rivers gather pretty good in the long run.

Wonder why they havent come up with this yet? some F2P models get good income from transmutes and non-p2w stuff to make your character unique and viable.

Off the topic, the dual spec option would be great and it would also be a good boost for the transmute buys and QoL.

I second (third? fourth?) the idea of the fashion system getting an overhaul. I'd love to be able to collect all the event fashions and such but just don't have the room for it. I already had to mail myself a couple of sets which is really a hassle.

And adding the ability to wear male outfits as a female char and vice versa, is a brilliant idea too. ( It was posted somewhere in the forum, lately )

There is so many possibilities. That could bring in cash. Especially from hamsters like myself.
