Refining insignias??

I have noticed that when you right click on an insignia there is a greyed out option in the tooltip to "refine" is there any time when you are able to refine insignias or is this just a mistake? I think it would be amazing if we could refine insignias as I find myself constantly find myself throwing away insignias I don't have room to slot and it seems a shame to waste them but they take up too much room.
insignias have so much promise but they seem to be utterly useless trash one you have used all the slots.

yeah I guess there is a lot of refining but wouldn't it be cool to have a chance to make epic insignias without having to pay hundreds of thousands of ad?

Yes, epic drops are 1mill+ better idea then refining.

If we're forced to refine them then that will mean is even more HAMSTER to fill our inventory with and will probably require Cwards which means it will cost even more ADs which will just makes the gap between free players and cash players will be even worse.

btw you can stash some more in nonactive mounts.

After those are full and with the increase of drop in next patch they will be... insignias are becoming vendor stuff at best

You can donate insignias to your guild coffer. That's what I'm doing with mine, after I filled available slots on my idle mounts.

Ironically, each of my characters seems to be "lucky" with one type of insignia. So after trading out crappy insignia prefixes for better ones, I'm stuck just donating them to the coffer -- while other characters have empty slots for that type of insignia.

They're bound to character because of botters at skill nodes. Complain to the botters.

Bound to account makes no practical difference to making insignia drops completely worthless to botters, but would be a massive quality of life improvement for players trying to outfit alts.

My CW has incredible insignia luck, even though there are multiple characters I play just as much, or more. If I'm going to get one insignia in a day of gaming, it will be on my CW. Others of my characters are still wandering around with nothing more than the two insignia the game gave them. But my CW is going to be stashing spares or junking extras very soon. She could share the wealth, if the devs permitted it. And the rationale for not doing so is not good when the entire system is ruled by RNG.

Ehhh... FYI, skill node botters are operated by goldsellers, not people who play the game. There may be exceptions, but if you investigate botting behavior, you're going to see a bunch of trash-geared randomgenname@alphabetsouphandle popping in and out of [some instance with easily accessible node].

Anything they can't sell in stacks on the AH (thus the rationale for the impending removal of refining materials from skill nodes) is worthless to them. The AD from selling refinement stacks is then sold in real-money transactions. It's an entire business model.

Insignias are just something they have to adjust their scripting to dispose of.

Quality of life for players. Useless to botters.

@beckylunatic - I don't know If that's totally true. I knew players on Myspace games like Mobsters, Heroes, and Outworld that used bots. Just because the gold spammers use them, doesn't mean regular players don't have access to them if they wanted. And you could get rid of a lot of the spammers if you paid people to sit in PE for 15-30 minutes at a time in order to instantly report them to developers/Cryptic employees. It could be Cryptic employees, or you could pay players to do it with in-game items. The gold spammers might also be put out of business if the prices in the Zen store were more reasonable.

If they see you botting, they will ban you. If ppl bot, they do so on trash accounts. BoC is just senseless.

I never understood the need of btc.
If the game had endgame with bosses droping rewards for all the party to roll on sure so the mage does not roll on the greatsword for his alt but...

A bot does not care if the item is bta or btc.

My $.02 - no item in this game should be just Bind to Character; they should all be bind to account. A lot of us play each class/race/path etc. and, at least for me, some of my characters are a lot luckier than others.

As to the OP's comment - please no more refining. While your idea sounds great in theory, realistically there is way too much emphasis on refining stuff (in terms of the amount of RP needed). I spend well over half my gaming time, especially on the weekends, managing RP/refining stuff. I have yet to get anything to legendary and have been playing since December, 2013 across 12 toons. My DC sigil on my SW is the closest at level 96.

Perhaps give us a vendor that we can purchase an insignia upgrade(s) using Gold (useless except for injury kits/swapping enchants)?

There's more than enough refining already. Please, no.

    This..
Please, not another price/expense/bill of playing this game.
I actually don't like the new mount system.
I was thinking it would be more like training/customizing. It's just more enchantment sockets.
With a pet, we have what, 30'ish slots already. Now we have 15 more.

You can donate green/uncommon insignia. Coffer turns its nose up at blues.
