Item in AH suddenly automatically put on for default price and sold!?

A while back I put on my mystic phoera on the AH for about 875k AD. It expired and got stuck in the AH.

Just after the patch came on today, I suddenly got a message in my mailbox that it was sold for 516k!? I never put my mystic phoera back on the AH on that low price! What's going on here!?

EDIT:I'm probably wrongly depicting a bug here. The posting fee does indicate that I put a bidding on 520k-ish so it probably got stuck for a while after the bidding ended. Guess this topic can be closed *and sorry for the sudden lash-out, I just got a bit flabbergasted about the whole thing*

Had you put a bid option on it? If someone had been bidding on your auction prior to expiry, maintenance (really, the process of taking the shard offline and bringing it back up again) makes the stalled transaction complete.

The only thing that I know is that it had been 'expired' for 2 days already. I was expecting it back in my inventory. As far as I'm concerned I never put a bidding option on it either
