Heyo, I wrote this out meaning to sent it as a guild message, then it got considerably to long. Posting it here as the tip of the spear portion is an idea I think many would benefit from. It was meant for my guild, so I'll just request one of my guild leaders post this as a guild message.
Hello and greetings all. Elly recently has sent out some good messages about those that still need twisted weapons. Only accompanying thought that I have to this is simple. Build parties, there seems to be set number of us that build parties. PArt of the reason why Bonk has become the power house of a toon that he is now, is because whenever I need to grind out some piece of equipment, I do it energetically and unendingly. Build party after party for whatever runs it is that I need. The number of parties I have built since the second day of beta launch is legion, for they are MANY! xD Building parties isn't easy, and therein lies the challenge for many. Very easy to say yes to someone else building a party. Much harder to put in the effort to do so. It's frustrating, and requires a bit of effort. It can be very frustrating in that it seems like often you'll put up a message in /guild and will get few replies. Secret is, even if no one replies, you can still /tell those you see aren't already in a run. Many who might not see it, or don't feel like responding in /guild, when asked directly may be happy to do the run. It's easy to say yes, and we like being asked directly, makes a player feel good. It's also great experience, helps to build friendships as you'll learn those that are round about the same area of the grind as you are. You also have LFG in PE, and yes, dreaded pugs. However, for every bad run you'll have, keep a cool head and add those to your friends list that are of skill. Get a good friends list going and you'll always have a filled party (well, ok, most....some of the time xD)
Build Parties, don't rely on others to do it for you. Also, many don't understand the new queue system fully. Only practice, and asking questions that come from practice/experience will fix this.
Another matter I would like to discuss is a theory called the tip of the spear. Recently I had a bit of a snit with a player who was experiencing frustration over his efforts not being rewarded, and seemingly less effort getting greater rewards. FAR TO MUCH glory goes to the top of the DPS board. I want to say this again as it's important. FAR TO MUCH glory goes to the top of the DPS chart. Is this easier for me to say as I'm regularly up there, absolutely. It was not always so, I played and loved playing GWF when it was the "HAMSTER" class, and I'll still play it (unless new class is super fun) when it's no longer flavor of the month. One of the goals of this game was to be like it's table top origins (yes I know, LMFAO, but still) GWF is designed to be that stand and deliver damage source. Give as good as he can get. That was the appeal, CW, meant to be wizards, sit back and control the battle field from afar. DC, our clerics, keep everyone alive and healty. TR, strategically move around the battle field and nuke high priority, low hp, high damage Targets. SW, ranged magical damage. HR, same idea as a TR, nuke off high priority, low hp, high damage targets. Last, but sure as hell not least by any stretch, our tanks. Gf, stand in the face of anything and take what it's got to give while buffing those around. OP same idea with some healing thrown in.
Very simplified, but you get the picture. I feel that many moons/mods agop these roles were better understood and respected. Every class has experienced being f#&^ed over. It sucked when it happened to mine, and I felt strongly for others when it happened to there’s. There was a time that DC and GF had been rendered almost unneeded. They still played their classes and always earned respect and recognition for their efforts. All classes have their appeal, don't compare yourself to another or you'll always experience frustration. I only compare myself to my fellow GWF, this has been true all along. Especially when CW was the ultimate force in the game. I felt badly for those players when that nerf hit them in the face. I still do, nerfing to me is an abomination that comes when to many are worried about what others have, and want their efforts TAKEN from them to make everyone else feel better. Do I enjoy the outcome and that I can out damage all the other classes, except for SW (I still get smoked by a well built one, or a fabled one) Yes, I'll admit it, but it's not the source of my enjoyment by any stretch.
This is where we get to the tip of the spear. GWF and SW are the tip of the spear, Nothing more, nothing less. These players deserve no more and no less recognition than any other parts of the spear. There is an entire spear behind that single point that is far more important than that tip. The rest of the blade (TR, HR, and CW) the handle of the spear giving it the ability to pierce (GF and OP protection) and the binding holding it all together (DC and OP Devotion). No part of this spear is more or less important. Is a party with three GWF chain sawing through everything better? NO! It's easier, and easier and better are NOT synonymous. Rainbow parties have forever been stronger, and will always be. Idea I'm trying to get across here is simple. You can make any class, by comparing yourself/class to others as a bench mark you insult and disrespect their efforts and your own.
Final thought, don't speak in put downs, that HAMSTER angers me to an extent very little else does. Play what you love to play, try your best. And remember, you're only competing with one person. You from yesterday, read the forum, ask questions, never stop trying to be better. Skill will always trump gear. Best and easiest example that comes to mind. Myself and Gorath, I am more geared, by quite a bit, and still BARELY have higher performance numbers. That is because he is the more skillful, informed of the two. I would not have gotten to this point were it not for him, as he gave me a new way of looking at my class, and someone to compete with, though he didn't know I was because it was only in my own head xD
Thank you for your time, and if you read it all, ty for reading my inane insane thoughts. Attitude is everything in this world, try and have the best one you can.

I loved reading this and was very grateful for the reminder as I know I get all too caught up in wondering if I'm really as good at my class as I should be. I know it's supposed to be fun but I still expect a lot of myself when I'm in a group as I do realize that the rest of the group does rely on me to perform my role adequately. With all the truly awesome players out there both in terms of their attitudes and abilities, I'm really humbled a lot. This guild communication is a really good example of both a great attitude and humility and I truly do appreciate the candor and sincerity. Thanks Bonk!
I'm not in your guild- but oh man. This was exceptionally well written and very thoughtful. What you said echoes essentially the way I view the game and the people in it but you said it much better. I don't understand the need for competition in a game for groups and fun.
Thank you for the opportunity to read something refreshing and thoughtful.

Sadly after reading this I fully understand exactly where your coming from. I've played a tactician forever and a day and I have experienced things of this sort far too often. I really wished more people would actually pay attention and know what each person in a party was contributing instead of the omg yer dps so low you suks newb. It makes me sad seeing people that play more support classes ignored just because they don't have massive dps. Far too many higher level guilds suffer From dps syndrome. I have alot of respect for you now Bonk Ever need a Tact GF look me up Healadin can find me easily.
Great post Bonk I'd also like to say, be smart about the groups you make. When doing dungeons make sure you notice what combinations work and which don't. Don't take chances on your group members or try to take too many who need help / to be carried. It isn't a good experience when you can't complete something with your party because of the group you put together. Make a party that you know will be able to do the job and if you are not sure then ask experienced members. It takes a little bit of practice but once you get the hang of it, its simple
