change appearance window

This problem has happened for me only within the past week. When I go to 'change appearance' and the window pops up so I can see what the new color (using dye) looks like on a fashion item, the character's armor completely covers the fashion item so I can't see what it will look like, rendering the window useless.

I do remember having some weirdness with fashion and armor appearing at the same time and clipping through each other, probably also while trying to dye fashion items. It was quite a while back.

I don't recall if it self-resolved or if I just took off any items that were obscuring my view.
