This isn't rocket science. If you guys require that level of precision, then have at it.

I've tested enough to see that there's a noticeable damage increase when picking up Drow Tactics...do I honestly care enough to keep running tedious testing in order to work backwards to the actual equation and provide reams of statistical evidence to prove it?

    Nope.

100% Agreed, its the reason I have not reverse engineered the formula myself, its not like as a dps class, you got a choice with the boon anyhow.

In the end everything is better than 1200 regen.

I honestly can't think of any strongly compelling reason to take the regen with a non-DPS class either. GF should be using mark and getting CA. Other tank/heal players should probably be trying to get positional CA from a companion or party member, just for the sake of wringing out a bit more damage.

I've waffled between the life steal and regen choices on a few builds because of not realistically being able to obtain enough life steal for it to be noticeable and thinking in those cases a small boost to incoming healing might serve better, but here, I'm not really seeing it.

The post-combat regen can be quality of life by saving you the HP pots (not a big deal if you've cranked your life steal, usually), but in PvP it can be huge to be able to quickly heal up after surviving a combat and for countering a bit of healing depression. I respec'd and took CA over regen this time, and the main reason I end up dying in PvP right now (aside from 4k ubers just trolling everyone to death or full team ganks) is because I'm not healing up after fights.

Still, for the most part I would say go for the CA even if you're doing lots of PvP, simply because if you want to really push yourself to be one of the trolling ubers then you're not really going to need to heal up after combat at all (either you're largely undamaged, or you'll life steal your way up to full before they can take you down no matter what), and if you're pretty casual (or non-existent) on the pvp scene then you're probably dying before the fight ends more often than not, anyway.
