I thought this was a cool little thing...something fun to do in your free time when you can't actually log in.

However, I'm unclear on how stamina is refilled, if someone can help me out there.

    Stamina is refilled over time. Higher level companions have a higher level of stamina on their first adventure, but they need to recharge as well. I don't recall the exact recharge rate.

    It recovers over time. There is an actual formula, but google-fu fails me. It should be something like recovering 1 stamina for 15 minutes idle or something like that though.

    they need to add companion upgrade tokens to gateway and to earn it if they didnt fail any assignment in epic dungeons.
