They did throw you a bone.....only it bonked you on the head. It was called mod6-7. It was a dry, marrowless, pertified dinosuar bone they tossed, not too you, but AT you. It was meant to either distract you from what the real problems are *here boy, look at the bone, get the bone, fetch boy fetch!*. Or to knock you out when it hit you in the head.

    You think these are talented?
    Greedy? That's given.
    Desperate? For sure!
But talented? That doesn't fit either with the numbers nor the customer feedback.

Yes, actually. Or put in place an ongoing method of improving existing gear (artifact armor?) instead of expecting us to trade it in every six months.

I guess this is what happens when MMOs are F2P, you get the Candy Crush crowd joining in. *facepalm*

They almost sank the ship with the EE rollout - I hope they've learned their lesson and avoid any more massive resets on gear or XP.

You've never played a MMO before? There was a level cap increase and new content. Did you expect your gear to be bis forever? What's the point of new content if there no rewards worth acquiring? It looks like they caved to all this complaining about gear too. Mod 8 gear is 2 item level below SH and with similar stat distribution. Maybe for the next 4 mods and 2 yrs they just keep releasing same item level gear, just change the appearance and names. Would that make you happy?

But if there is no progression in terms of gears with each mod, won't that be pretty boring? Devs throw us something new to aspire for, as long as we can get it without need for zen, I'm always up for challenge.

...honestly, to me this reeks of another piece of circumstantial evidence that this game is on the "skim-off the leftover momentum and player willingness to spend RL, fulfill contractual obligations with as little effort as possible, and throw workforce into the next-gen project"-phase.

"[...] figuring out what it means to fully review a class and identifying the classes we need to review first. A lot of that comes from player feedback – the PVP and PVE forums. [...]"

As if there haven't been class reworks before (HR, DC, TR,...) - and were the "player feedback" thing true...

There's a big difference between getting new gear every four months and getting new artifact gear every four months: the first one you just replace whereas the second one you replace and refine over. Seem fair to you? Even without my artifact gear I'd still be spending most of my time in-game refining regular artifacts. Artifact equipment is just bad, lazy and boring design.

But won't you be able to refine your gear up to purple if you refine your old orange gear into it (with the new changes, I'm not sure I have it right, but that's what I was told)? Then the challenge is to get it back up to orange again.

regarding gear problem, may i remember HV/HP/TH sets were used by everyone for like 2 years and noone, i repeat NOONE, was bored about that?

No, I just want my gear and be done with it and go on to enjoy the game. I don't like being forced to do unenjoyable grinding for gear every moment there is.

If you're bored of something, you transmute it.

Seriously, I don't blame people for leaving. Compared to doing a day of dungeons runs to gear up back then, to now, enduring say, dozens and dozens of SH siege pvp, getting destroyed and humiliated, for weeks, or hoping your buddies are on so you can attempt to kill boring old dragons all day, for several days, AND doing the same boring T2 dungeon for the additional currency to buy that new gear...

    Holy hell...

the campaign grinding at least is not gathered behind seal grinding or rng. thats why i somehow appreciate it.
btw this mod 8 seems really a mod 4 2.0

personally during mods3/5 i have run VT over 2k times to get that gear set on ALL my toons just for transmutation pourposes (the look was soo cool expecially on CW and GF that i couldnt pass it).

Wow. They should make a fantasy dress-up mobile game. Instead of putting on dresses and makeup, you put on different armors. There's obviously a market for it.

A memo circulated at a casino I worked at:
Office of gaming operations manager (x):
Due to the recent events of armed take-over robberies, we have decided that new measures to tighten security have to be taken.
From now on, when change personnel access the change cabinets, they must ensure that the cabinets are closed and locked at all times, that not to do so is a progressive disciplinary offense. There are no exceptions going forward from today's date.

So how do you actually get the change out of the cabinet without opening them? Teleportation?
A employee (team, what team?) was actually written up and suspended because of this finely worded "memo" for 4 days until a arbitration hearing could be scheduled. The employee's rep, actually challenged the ops manager to read his own memo and explain how, the employee was going to do their job and also comply to his memo....his response was "well of course the manager was to use common sense...the wording was off but the supervisor should know that and act accordingly". The rep's return was "do you feel attempting to fire this 13 yr employee who has been 2x employee of the month had "common sense " used on them by the supervisor?". He conceded, it had unfortunately gone so far and ordered the employee be payed all the back pay and set whole....As everyone left he pointed to the supervisor and said, "you need to stay...I need to "talk" to you." Uh,oh! :)

That "wise" supervisor's great "supervising" cost the company 4 days of back pay to the employee 4 days of pay to the employee that replaced them during that time, the time of 1.5 hr pay for 1x of ea. ( said employee, union rep, arbitrator (at least $300 for their skills), the supervisor and the ops manager). So much for "wisdom".

I believed you...until you said someone acted on it. I can believe someone wrote the memo. I won't believe ever that someone was stupid enough to try and fire someone for doing their one and only job.

Any one taking bets that the new balance system/methodology they have come up with will tell them that the OP is severely underpowered and in need of massive buffs?

regarding gear problem, may i remember HV/HP/TH sets were used by everyone for like 2 years and noone, i repeat NOONE, was bored about that?

we had 5 modules (1 to 5) allways wearing the same sets, toying stats using stones/jewellry/boons, playing with fashion using all possibles pieces (mostly greenie/blue from the levelling areas) to reach an unique look (spending TONS of ADs and $$).

was that a problem? have someone ever complained about that?

    the answer is NO!

personally during mods3/5 i have run VT over 2k times to get that gear set on ALL my toons just for transmutation pourposes (the look was soo cool expecially on CW and GF that i couldnt pass it).

i have run SP close to 1k time WITHOUT getting the TH helm, eventually i bought it on AH and never complained about that! (it was 1 hour run at that time, was really hard to find parties exept in my own guild, and with 13k Gs was a really hard challenge for my little dwarf tank)

gear has never been the real goal for players, the fun in getting it was!

and to have fun "IN GEttiNG IT" it has to stay for a minimum time, NOT only 4 months and beeing replaced after!!

resilience is the MOST importat trait of human race, and the reason we are still here despite our weakness and selfdestroing mind.

Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but if you like your gear, and you don't like the new one, then you can just keep your gear. That way you don't have to do the grind for the new gear. I mean I don't understand the hate on new content, when you always have the choice on staying with what you have.

It's true that the resilience is the most important trait we have, but don't we also have the need to expand our horizons? Just saying that it's a free world. You don't like the new content, you don't have to play it. I get it that they took away the old content, and that was wrong, they should have kept it for you guys who don't like the new content. I just don't get the hate for the new stuff.

Hand to sky and palm on the good book, it happened that way. There actually was a manager that much of a 'tard.

The same place had a buffet hostess promoted straight to food and beverage manager, she had zero experience in the beverage industry either as a worker or a manager. She had zero experience in the managerial area of food service, the only work experience she had was as a waitress/hostess. What she did have, was the private phone number of the wife of the casino exec. she was sleeping with. On his next to last day he "promoted" her to food and beverage manager. She lasted 3.5 months in that spot and cost the casino 100's and 100's of thousands of dollars in dumb decisions and mistakes as she had "on-the-job-training". What was she finally fired for? "Misappropriation of company assets" i.e. she stole money earmarked for bar promotions.

That's the caliber of exec's and middle management they had at this place. I mean really? Someone hands you $40k to promote the roll out of a new bar, and you spend $2k on balloons and poster boards. How dumb do you have to be in your job, to not think at some point they are going to check up on were the $40k was spent and discover only $2k spent and not wonder and ask were the other $38k went? But she was that dumb and brazen.

This place was a fine text book example of corporate promotion of the mediocre. They lost great and effective management all the time, the casino(s) across the street hired away the good ones all the time, leaving the incompetent behind. Before you think that they couldn't afford to keep the better ones....this corporation was the 2nd largest gaming corp. at the time, they were losing the good help to the 5th.

I'll give you a hint what the company name was, with a little digging you should figure it out: The name started with a "H" had 6 letters in their name, and ended with a "H". They currently are the number 1 Indian gaming entity in the nation. They got to their level of market dominance, not from excelling (well unless you consider what palms to grease and how much a "skill".)

Long time player here and I'm pretty disappointed by this. Some classes really, REALLY need a rework. my GF is still painful to play. come on... throw us a bone.

    Agree 100% on that

GF defensive skill is so weak these days that i only see ofensive PVP GF around, noone want a GF for Tank, because they preffer to be immortal with a Paladin burblee in the party...
Nerf that burble and buff GF defense skills... GF should be a tank nota a PVP DPS...

Well some people still prefer GF. Maybe because they feel OP tanks is an exploit in some way, or maybe because they want a challenge. I wouldn't go as far as saying that GF's need def increase, since I've been doing well even without healer as long as we take dungeon runs slowly instead of running to end all the time. The real problem is OP being OP. This really needs to be fixed fast, as time goes by, and people get more used to being immortal in dungeon runs, the bigger the back lash when they eventually nerf OP.
