This is awesome. Here's what keeps popping into my head.
Going back and re-reading (and listening to the books on Audible, so awesome ) as an adult now, I catch a lot more of the utter brutality that's present in a lot of the books. Some of the writing even makes a notorious series like Game of Thrones look very childish.
And I mean that as a compliment.
So my question is, when you're writing the books and mapping out the stories, how do you personally handle adding those parts to the book? I won't spoil anything, but even early on in the series there's parts where entire families get gruesomely murdered...it seems like those parts would be extremely challenging to actually write.
What's the thought process that goes on behind parts like that?

Oh, and follow up question since I mentioned "Game of Thrones".
Having seen GoT, especially via HBO, bring fantasy writing wholly into the mainstream public, what's the word on seeing Drizzt and friends in his own TV or Movie series?
Statement/Question(s): Your stories have been an iconic part of Dungeons and Dragons for almost three decades now. So firstly, thank you very much for all the adventures thus far!
What is your favorite location in the Forgotten Realms, and why?
What location/region, that you haven't written about, would you like to write about, and why?
What is you're favorite Magic Spell in Dungeons and Dragons, any edition, and why?
And finally... (in homage to Dr. Suess) do you butter your bread butter side up, or butter side down?
The first novel I read was, The Crystal Shard, when I was ten years old. Here I am at 32, and I've read every Forgotten Realms novel you've either written, or been a part of. I want to thank you for the imagination, creativity and writing ability, your books have helped me develop over the years. Please never stop writing.
My question is; will we ever see a Jarlaxle/Zaknafein Origins Story? To help explain their friendship, the betrayal, and his affinity and bond he has/had with both Drizzt and Artemis?
1. What are the limitations and benefits for writing for a game. 2. If you had write the destruction of neverwinter, which monster/faction would you pick?
How do you feel that now, canonically, you never 'killed' Chewbacca?
Thank you for all the great work, reading (and sharing!) it has been a huge part of life for as long as I can remember. Looking forward to your upcoming work in and out of Neverwinter!
Hello sir. I am currently writing a survival, action, zombie, post-apocalyptic type novel and I am wondering what are some general tips that someone as achieved and talented as yourself would give to new writers hoping to break into the writing industry?
Dear Sir, I hope I'm not too late for you to see this. I had 2 (rather unrelated) questions for you: Firstly, are there any more planned collaborations with other authors similar to those that you have done before (in the sense of the sundering, or comparable projects that span all of D&D media)?
Secondly, what is your opinion on the Foundry available in the Neverwinter MMO? Have you been given the chance to use it, and if so, how was that experience?
Apologies if I am too long-winded, or if my questions are rather simple ones.
It was nice that he covered mine about Chewbacca without even being asked. Good to know that he was forced to. Also Chewie is the best Disney Princess.
How do you watch this if you couldnt make the live stream?
Bedlam: Creating chaos as a MI Exec TR Avariel Merilwen: Burn baby, MoF/Rene Aejun The Silver: Devoted to Healing, DevOP/Justice Mina Rosepetal: Super Natural, Pathfinder/Melee Frost: Benchwarmer, Soulbinder/Fury

You can still view it on Twitch via their previous broadcasts - starts with here and carries on in here.
It was a very interesting interview, fascinating insight into the way he creates and writes. One follow up question I would have though is: having said that he has played the upcoming Underdark quests, I'm curious to know what character type (class/race) 'Bob' played it as?

That moment when one of your favorite authors pronounces a name the same way you have been the whole time...
I about had a nerd-attack when he said Baenre the exact same way I have been saying it for years!

Also, how do YOU pronounce Baenre?

and also the featured satirical comedic adventure "A Call for Heroes".
