As Kvet said, Cryptic Studios is a Development Studio that isn't even in the same place as PWE. Cryptic is a subsidiary company of PWE and PWE itself is even a subsidiary of Perfect World Beijing. Check out what being a subsidiary company means and you'll then understand that they are indeed their own entities apart of the other companies.
So who is making the game decisions? PWB, PWE or Cryptic? According the Wiki article, it could be any of them...
I'm not one for a tinfoil hat, but a lot of the decisions made in this game truly do come across as something that upper management would make, not necessarily the ones in Los Gatos, but someone who is overseeing operations from 10,000 feet. Regardless, some of the things that have been implemented in the game this year have been... just really bad.
While there is an overabundance of nerdrage and crying in the forums over all sorts of tiny little details that, in the end, don't really matter, I know that there has been a lot of good solid constructive feedback and ideas that have been presented... but it's like talking to a wall.
While I'm not a fan of either Drizzt Do'what's-his-face, or Mr. Salvatore's exhaustive works on said character (I'm so tired of the Underdark), I'm hoping that a fresh storyline will pump a little life into this game, although I have this nagging feeling that the "questing with Drizzt" is going to be like the "questing with Minsc"... just a couple quick runs through recycled locations.

Of course these ludicrous radical changes come from management. Read the comments on Glassdoor reviews. just about all of them point to management as the problem at Cryptic. And most of them say the devs are quite talented but their hands are tied when it comes to directives from the upper echelons. I feel for them in a way because they might struggle to find employment elsewhere as a result of the downward spiral NW is on. Soon it will be in freefall I fear.

Because of the anonymous nature of Glassdoor, I can't really bring myself to put a lot of stock in it.. there is absolutely no verification whatsoever that those are written by actual employees, and of course former employees will be disgruntled... so... yeah..
That's what I would refer to as an "unreliable source".

Good companies tend to get good reviews. If you've talked to any PWE employees the glassdoor reviews generally reflect whats going on there. I'd assume the same is true for Cryptic.

I don't have the luxury of directly communicating with any Cryptic employees in that capacity. Even so, as an employee/customer interaction, the employee isn't going to paint their company in a bad light, at the risk of being exposed, then unemployed.
It's obvious that the mods and CMs on the forum are exasperated with the decisions being made, and the direction the game is heading... especially since they are the public face of the company and are bearing the brunt of everyone's angst. However, it's their job to attempt to maintain a positive face for the company, whether they like it or not, and they certainly are undeserving of the ire that's being piled on them... but it really seems that they're in the dark with the rest of us... Andy has the luxury of being able to go to the Office and start pounding on doors to look for information and to advocate for the playerbase... whether he does or not, he says he does, and I have no reason to not believe him.
However, he can't log into the forum and bite the hand that feeds him. None of them can.
So any way I look at it, anonymous reviews on an anonymous website hold zero weight for me,, regardless if it's what I want to read or not. I am more interested in facts and truth than I am interested in outrage.

Trust me, the devs know you guys are upset about the changes. They haven't been ignoring the feedback or the forum. But dragging this down to a mudslinging contest, trashing the devs and posting anonymous reviews isn't going to help anyone in any way.
I know I don't need to post this again, but for the official record:

Back to topic, so no one from the company would like to provide some insight?
