We can not activate Unstoppable. It is related to temporary hit points. It has been reported. It is known. The bug is fatal. GWFs are saving their as*%§s by activating Unstoppable. If this is not working -> Dead.
Repro steps 1) Log in to a level 70 Great Weapon Fighter 2) For best reproducibility join a party with a Paladin for high temp HP gain 3) Head to any zone with monsters or better enter a T1/T2 dungeon 4) Play until you have temp HP (yellow bar) and full Unstoppable bar 5) Activate Unstoppable. Check if it works 6) Repeat step 4 to 5 and monitor the success rate / effects

In the last patch notes I read: Players who claimed the free Neverwinter Vanguard pack now properly have the Cavalier title.
I get this often on my gwf. The only fortunate thing is I usually have so many temporary hp from the previous unstoppable that I am never in jeopardy of death but there are a few cases where I have had to suck down some health pots and go evasive.
Same problem... Seems to happen due to a timing or overlap issue with attempting to Activate unstoppable and being interrupted around (not exactly) the same time.

I think that it's more than just temp HP... I've been able to go Unstoppable, even with temp HP... I haven't done any sort of real testing on it though, for the simple fact that I'm usually in the middle of a boss/mini-boss fight when it happens...
I have noticed that I can't go Unstoppable if I've just been Soulforged... gotta hit a potion or the Stone of Life, wait a few more seconds, then it will let me.
Is this still going on?I havent noticed this problem on my GWF for a while now but I use it just for influence farm so it is possible I didnt encounter for that reason
Yes, this is still happening. I believe to fix it you have to take damage, but that may be just about losing the temporary hitpoints. I haven't quite figured out what triggers it. My theory is that it happens when you have temp hitpoints from another source (e.g. paladin) plus temp hit points from your previous unstoppable left over. I am guessing this is due to the (very welcome!) change to how long we keep temp hitpoints.
Sometimes taking damage doesn't fix it and other times it does. I had this happen and I lost all the temp hp and took enough damage that I was one hit from dead. The only way I fixed it that time was to change char and back. I was using an erinyes pet and wondered if it might have something to do with it but I have not been able to isolate enough to know.

I dont believe its temp HP, getting hit with control of any sort while you have a full bar and the bug fixes it and you can activate unstoppable again.

I have to agree with you on this, reporting bugs is a complete waste of time anymore. They used to address them and sometimes respond to them and even fix them but now it seems that is no longer the case.

it also happens when the GWF gets his own temp HP but does not take any damage while unstoppable (and thus lose even a little bit of temp HP). i can usually avoid this bug by taking any form of damage, even only 100 damage when i am unstoppable since this somehow triggers the game engine to allow me to reapply the temp HP gained from unstoppable

+1 for this bug. I noticed it when I have Temp HP and my normal HP bar is full. When I go to eLOL and it happens during Scorpions I have to get some damage on me to remove my temp HP which is a big risk since I can get killed easily from them if I'm not extra carefull.

Im guessing its not your fault. But you should not have to bring up the same old bugs X times before they do something about it. Especially when its game breaking bugs like Elven Battle etc.
The devs sucks. Thats it. Stop wasting time by begging them to fix stuff.

Even if Andy (strum) wasn't a player, he's still one of the faces as Community Manager. I find it rather incredulous that people still think that he's blowing smoke and giving us lip service.. why would anyone think, even for a moment, that he would continue to BS us, which only makes his job harder and more stressful?
When something breaks, or if something isn't right or fair, who takes the brunt of things? Our Community Manager. Our Moderators. And none of them can do anything about anything, except bring it to the attention of the devs, ,which I have to believe they do... because they are growing tired of not only playing a fairly broken game, but dealing with everyone who is taking it all out on them.
I'm also certain that the devs would love nothing more than to fix everything. RIGHT NOW. But they have multiple responsibilities and contractual obligations, and while yes, when there is simply a "server rest" and no patch, or if there's a little tiny patch, or whatever.. it doesn't matter, there will still be dissenting posts. Cryptic could say "we're giving everyone 1 million AD." There would be replies akin to "fix class balance", "why is my $25 mount obsolete?", "do something about the bots/lag/FPS/whatever", and "only 1 million? You need to give us 2 million!"
I've been able to chat with Andy via PMs, while Strongholds was on preview. Absolutely nothing in our conversations made me believe for a moment that he's nothing but genuinely concerned about the state of the game and general unrest. However, he's not pizza. He can't make everyone happy... but I think he's doing his best to assuage the masses and keep things on an even keel.

Now, having said all that...
I ran into the Unstoppable Bug again this morning while taking on the Smith in SH. I had NO temp HP. The only thing that I could think that could have contributed to this bug was the fact that I tried to go Unstoppable the same time he knocked me prone... I hit TAB the same time I got knocked back, and nothing. I attempted TAB a few more time, but the game told me that I couldn't do it because I was prone.
I let my HP run about dry, but it still wouldn't work... of course, my Determination remained full because I was in the middle of a fight.
Hopefully that will add to the list of clues the devs have regarding this bug and help them troubleshoot the issue.
On the other hand, I have YET to experience this bug on my Dragonborn GWF... perhaps it's an issue with one of the campaign boons? That's really the only difference between these two characters.. one has all the boons, the other has two.

My apologies I was not directing that at you specifically but at the QA process. Realize that I greatly appreciate what you yourself do and I know others feel similarly. I don't think you sound apathetic, in fact the apathy is entirely with me. I post about bugs. I do this in game and on the forums. I test and try to isolate any pertinent information I can but often the tools necessary to do so are not available and one is left to try and replicate with certainty as the only solution. Out of the many bugs I have reported since beta I have seen only one fixed and it was not even in any patch notes (but I am just as pleased either way and it only took about a year to fix). I have spent a considerable amount of time doing this but I generally don't mind the effort except that it seems to be pointless and I have no reason to pursue it any longer.
Maybe if we understood more about the process we might be more understanding in the difficulties of finding resolutions and perhaps we could be more detailed and precise (and even limited) in our posts and bug reports. In my minds eye I can only imagine someone sitting at a computer, reading the report, logging on a test character and being unable to replicated it and then marking the ticket as solved. This person I imagine has no understanding of the game other than a very basic and general knowledge. That, to me, is about the only thing that makes sense.
Anyways sorry if I sounded harsh at you as it was not meant to be (anyways I believe you were well warned ahead of times that the lot of us can be less than pleasant in our approach at times).
That is good news. So the bug is known, confirmed and forwarded to the devs.
My intetion was to create (another/new) bug report to receive an form of feedback. That worked. Thanks to everyone who contributed input. In the last posts...there is nothing about the bug itself. Strum even replied to the criticism. Lets return to the bug *whispers*plz*.
What else can we do?
Maybe an explicit how-to-reproduce. I can grab some guild-members and run some tests together to find a fail-save way of repro. @strumslinger : Is this useful/necessary?
going to preview patch notes you will see where someone pointed out the solution to panderus which was coding to activate unstoppable and refresh temp hp was broken. so i guess its not a priority

Frankly, I get used to this bug now. Need to get hurt in order to get the unstoppable back. Hence, I either ignoring I cannot get unstoppable and do "small" damage to the foe or I intentionally getting hurt a bit without getting killed. I now do that often enough to do that while facing the Dragonflght dragons and eCC end boss.

Situation A: I am running with a good party. ATM Neverwinter is so easy... the challenge is not to do the dungeon... its about to do em fast. Sometimes there is nor source for damage! When the tank is holding aggro... I wait for an AoE..enter...not enough damage to reduce the temp HP, or I am immune to damage because my OP-OP is making me immortal. Sometimes I am running around in Creep-Mode (full bar, tab dead) for 20 seconds until there is a possibility to receive enough damage. That su%W§s!
Situation B: I am with a party full of NW beginners or at least 3 of them. I have no OP-immortality and no perma-daily-DC so step-by-step from pack to pack. Entering fight - Creep mode - need damage - receive a big hit - down to 10% HP (or one-hit) - oops a second hit before I can smash tab - dead - perhaps wipe - frustration...
And then... a guy in TS: "hey, Bellistor, why do you play so ugly? You run into combat like a berserk... then you hesitate and DIRECTLY place your a?? in a red circle ... while you die... you roar in anger and curse the programmers. Everthing okay with you?"
